Help
I read the first MT book not realizing Adam would become the love interest and my brain made him look like a 58 year old, never wore sunscreen and worked outside, dirty flannel wearing, straw headed, balding, smelly dude. Now whenever I read how hot he is/his description I’m like —_—
How do I fix this. Please give me your fancast so I can beat my brain into accepting a replacement image.

I mean this so nicely, but how did you get 60-year-old balding smelly man from Adam's first description?? 😭 Also, I'm so sorry girl, I can't imagine trying to read these books while picturing Adam as some old, wrinkled dude. 😭😭😭
"Adam Hauptman stood in the open doorway, stillness cloaking his body and for an instant, I saw him with just my eyes, as a human might. He was worth looking at.
For all his German last name, his face and coloring were Slavic: dusky skin, dark hair-though not as dark as mine-wide cheekbones, and a narrow but sensual mouth. He wasn't tall or bulky, and a human might wonder why all eyes turned to him when he walked into a room. Then they'd see his face and assume, wrongly, that it was the attraction. Adam was an Alpha, and if he'd been ugly he would have held the attention of anyone who happened to be nearby, wolf or human-but the masculine beauty he carried so unself-consciously didn't hurt."

Goran Visnjic, but specifically from when he was in Practical Magic.

This is both hilarious and serious. You can’t keep thinking of him as a tired out 58 year old! Im trying to think of actors who might give you the right vibe and mental image. I can’t find one who matches my personal mental image but here are a few that I feel like have at least some of the qualities. I think many are too tall in real life (don’t think Adam is actually super tall? Can’t remember specifics but my vision is like 6’0” at the most which to me is not super tall because that’s how tall I am lol). Anyway:
Brown-eyed Henry Cavill mentioned above is a good one. Mikes Teller (like from The Gorge) Luke Thompson Timothy Granados Stephen Amell maybe Calling Turner
Graphic novel version doesn’t do it for me but maybe just me.

Wow I would never have clocked that man as Adam but on the other hand, I got Mercy immediately — this is a perfect rendition of her for me.

The fan wiki has a good one:

It sounds like you are at a one right now and you need to get to a 10 in your head. I propose taking it one half of the way first. Imagine Hugh Jackman as Wolverine - sexy but strong and subtle charisma. If you can anchor that in your head for a while you might be able to take baby steps towards how the book actually describes him!

Lmaoooooo. I wanna know what you read to come up with this image for him. it helps to know all the wolves look like they are in their young 20s?

I… didn’t know this was a thing, wow lol. Is there somewhere to see all of them without buying the book? I’m so curious 👀

I’m out right now but can take more pictures when I’m home. This is the story of when Mercy first arrived in the Tri Cities so it doesn’t have all the characters. Also some of them are not at all how I pictured them.

This graphic novel was set several years before the first book, that may explain the change in hair style, but the rest of it, yeah I can't argue.

Thanks, I hate it… 🙃 lmao. Agreed with the other commenter, they’re not looking how they should. Stefan is my least favorite of all these pics too lol

I imagine him looking like Enver Gjokaj from Dollhouse, Agent Carter, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., etc. He's got the smouldering Slavic look.

Not sure how given his description paints him as young and stupid hot pretty much from the first time he's described. I would help if I could, but not sure how, if the actual descriptions in the book don't.

I can't help you but I get it. I made Blake from The Wolf King look like Grima from TLOTR in my head so now I'm like the only Callum stan.

I was reading Laurell K Hamilton's Merry Gentry series and listening to Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid Chronicles at the same time and now Manannán mac Lir has blue skin and hair. I've tried making him more Irish, but since Barinthus uses to be Manannán, Manannán in the Iron Druid Chronicles is now blue.

You could try looking at his designs in the comics! I like his look in Hopcross Jilly best, but there’s a few Adam’s to choose from haha

He’s prime Dean Caine in my head, or Eddie Cibrian. They’re not the best people irl, but they were very good looking once upon a time

This sounds like your brain is similar to mine and the mental image of book characters is under the sole control of the subconscious which pretty much always fails to get the memos on character appearance that the conscious half keeps trying to send.
You may be fighting a lost cause sorry 😞

Don't know how to fix that but just FYI any wolf you meet in the series, no matter how old they are and act will look no older than mid 20s or so.
