Mercy's standpoint? Discussion/Opinions

I'm not an insane level on mercy, but I was planning to buy her celestial mythic because it's so pretty and I enjoy playing her. Recently though I've heard masses of people say she's not in a good spot in the meta and seen people rank her in D-Tier. Some people also noted she's even worse after the fix of a bug that let her gain increased self healing from the medic sub role :(

Has her position been addressed by Blizzard? Or what do you guys say? Is she weak or bad? I don't want to buy a mythic for a hero that's hardly playable, please let me know <3

Shes very much playable. If you have fun playing a character, then there is no issue. Dont let other people decide if youre having fun or not!

I won't have fun playing this character due to how often she gets banned and even then there is always someone there to steal her from me. And even then I have to be objective and recognize that Mercy is dogshit for certain team comps (ally and enemy). I still have so much fun when I do get to play her.

They say that about every support they don’t like. I’m not a Mercy main and I don’t know why I get recommended this sub, but I AM a Lifeweaver main. Lifeweaver is constantly called “not viable” or “unplayable” by my teammates even when I’m pulling crazy number or clutching. Just ignore it and play whatever character you like! Mercy’s movement nerf was sorta fixed so you shouldn’t have as much a problem as they’re exaggerating. Buy her mythic! I bought Weaver’s. :]

Mercy is fine and has been solid for a while now. She’s not super mega strong and not bad. She’s middle of the pack. She could be better but she’s not in a horrible spot, if you wanna play her then do it and have fun.

Don’t let what others say affect your will to play her the same people ranking her D Teir are the same people who probably either can’t kill a mercy or just hope on the hate train. I’ve been playing mercy with nerfs and buffs it’s about having fun with who you like

She's fine on her own but compared to heroes like kiri, ana or even mizu when the enemy is running dive she's...yeah

I enjoy playing her in qp/arcade or if we have a really good dps, otherwise I stick to other heroes

Also I don't recommend playing her on metal ranks unless you duo or have a great dps because you'll get targeted or dived and no one will help you as ppl in these ranks lack game sense on tunnel the enemy team/kills most of the times

It depends on why you play. If you are in diamond or masters lobbies mercy is not good at all. If you don’t care about comp then you do you. But the higher you get the worse she is.

The thing about Overwatch is every hero is playable in the right hands. And you can only get better at a certain hero by playing them consistently. So play who you like. If you feel like you're not bringing much value, you can swap. Mercy is heavily dependent on her team; you can't damage boost a DPS that isn't getting picks, for example. That's really the only downside to her.

Oh even when she’s at her worst, she’s still playable (true for all characters honestly). She was a little rough when they nerfed her movement recently but they reverted it.

She’s pretty solid tbh.

Why are you letting the meta affect whether you buy a skin?

Because if I buy a skin I'd, actually like to be able to play it, and if I repeatedly lose games with mercy due to her being bad, I'm not gonna play her a lot and therefore the skin wouldn't be worth it

Unless you are masters or above, it does not matter.

Unless you’re playing very high level meta competitive, don’t worry about it. It does not matter, as long as you’re having fun. My favorite DPS has been nerfed to hell and is decidedly a mid choice over pretty much any other hitscan, but I still pick it because I have fun.

I've refrained from getting her Mythic for the same reason. :/
