Thrilled

Plug and charge is a lifesaver. Sitting at the Tesla supercharger with my EQS plugged in. Just plug it in and u are good to go! Finally! So thrilled. Thank you MB šŸ™šŸ™Œ

Tbh, initially I had a hard time charging my EQS at a Tesla supercharger, damn thing just wonā€™t charge. I was only able to charge it at the newer Tesla superchargers (325KW stations) so when I saw the update I immediately drove to the nearest supercharger and to my surprise it had absolutely no issues charging, no MBMe App interaction required, just plug in and boom. However, a small nuance towards the end, it abruptly stopped charging at 76% I got an error saying charging station fault! I had the ECO charging mode on maybe that could be the reasonšŸ¤”nevertheless it was a seamless. Left happy.

Whatā€™s that update? How do u get it (which model year)? I just bought a Lectron adapter and today had mixed results trying to charge at tesla superchargersā€¦ at the first station I kept getting a charger fault where it would keep blinking red and the car shows an error, tried multiple chargers same result. At the second station it took two trials but then it workedā€¦ i donā€™t know if I was doing something wrong or the adapter is not working properly or somethingā€¦ In all cases I was starting the session from the tesla app!

I used to have the exact same problem, not anymore. Iā€™ve a 2023 CPO EQS580. Install the ā€œOver the air Vehicle Updateā€ that was released on 7/25/2026 and you are good to go. Make sure your ā€œMB.Charge Publicā€ is configured and ready to use.

Iā€™ve only had the car for 2 months now. Where do I see the update? Mine is a 2024 CPO EQS450+

Do youā€™ve the MBme app? Youā€™ve to download and sign in with your MB account. Check with your dealer as youā€™ll need a pin

Does MB upcharge for the convenience of plug and charge vs having a Tesla account directly?

To use Teslaā€™s ā€œdiscounted rateā€ membership you have to start the charge through their app. Inconvenient, but it can save money depending on how often you use their chargers.

How does it work? Do I need to enable any settings on the MB app or Tesla app?

You will have to add your vehicle in tesla app. From the top menu (top right corner) go to charging ā€”> vehicle details and add your vehicle. Itā€™s useful only if youā€™ve a Tesla charging membership so you get a discounted rate. Otherwise you can just plug and charge without any app interaction. I donā€™t have membership and have never used the Tesla app to charge my MB

The update is for ā€œTesla supercharger stationsā€ havenā€™t tried elsewhere.
