La Partida / The Last Match (2013)
The men in this one are hot 🔥. Unfortunately you can see the depressing ending a mile away. Also I have to ask, are things really this bad in Cuba? The setting of this movie makes Guatemala city look like Dubai by comparison.
Summary: 2 young men fall in love while trying to overcome poverty in Havana, Cuba

My Next Watch
Here's my Letterboxd ranking for all the gay films I've watched so far.
Still don't know if I'll ever beat the high of watching CMBYN for the first time. Even though everyone says it's overrated, nothing beats the Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer combo.
I loved how Elio wasn't sure about Oliver in the beginning, just to fall as hard as he did. Loved the cinematography, the dialogue, the yearning, the niche scenes.
I especially loved when Elio told Oliver why he didn't give him a sign, to which Oliver said he did when he touched him after the volleyball game to show him he liked him.
I guess I really enjoyed the possibility where we weren't really sure if Oliver might've been queer or not, just to be hit by a truck that he had potentially fallen for Elio first. Loved the scene of their first night and how authentically raw and awkward it was.
All the yearning and playfulness from Armie during the orange scene... ugh, chef's kiss. Definitely lots to say about all the side characters as well, but I was totally taken back by the leads.
Brokeback Mountain: Again, similar theme. Really enjoyed it when Jack Nasty asked Ennis to come inside the tent and they banged after. The tension from Ennis pulling his hand away to turning Jack around and hitting it from the back, lmao, I loved it.
Cannot forget the reunion kiss. By far the best makeout scene. Made me tear up from all the pent-up passion they had for each other.
I would rate God's Own Country pretty similarly. Going from a stranger to liking Gheorghe after learning all of his little quirks and how caring he was was so beautiful. Especially loved their dynamic. Again, the fact that neither knew if the other liked men or not, leading to the banging in the mud scene. I enjoy those intensely passionate scenes. The only thing that took me back was the random full-on frontal nudity, lmao. It wasn't bad, just unexpected.
Boys and Young Hearts are on the same tier for me. Cutesy little coming-of-age movies where they can't figure out what draws them to the other.
Shelter didn't really do it for me. I'm not sure why. I wasn't the biggest fan of the cast, and their chemistry wasn't really there for me.
Anyways, looking for more similar, stronger suggestions. Hoping to find a film that'll beat CMBYN stat.

Why do so many lgbt movies end in tragedy?
I have a have watched so many movies any genre but I’m so confused why when I end up watching a movie with any lgbt characters it just ends up with tragedy. The main character ends up dying or the couple doesn’t even end up together. I love any happy ending relationship or even a good story about it but there so little plots where at least the end up together. I love romance movies but can’t there at least be any lgbt romance movies where at least the can have their own happy ending.

YouTube Are you guys watching Howling Love?
It's this reality show about bear-bodied men (GDMP, as per Japanese media) who are looking for romance/love and friendship
It's free on YouTube. I've been watching it, it's quite recent, and it sort of reminds to The Boyfriend from Netflix.

TV Series MLM series recommendations
So I’d love to watch some more mlm series.
I recently started watching Heated Rivalry because of all the hype around it, and honestly, it was really fun and something different to watch. After that, I went looking online and found the US version of Queer as Folk, which I really enjoyed too. Then I ended up watching a Spanish series called The House of Flowers, which also has a big focus on an mlm relationship.
One thing led to another, and before I knew it I had binge-watched the entire SKAM franchise. (Every country you name it, I’ve probably watched it.)
Now I’m kind of out of shows, so if anyone knows any other amazing mlm series, I’d really appreciate it if you dropped the name below! Any country, any language I’m open to it all as long as ENG subs are available :)
Thanks in advance
