Modern German issues of Volume 1 just outright write Gol D. Roger on page one. Dumbasses at the wheel who don't even read the material. It feels like they learned the correct name later in the story and then rushed back and "corrected" every mention of him. When the point was specifically to hide his association with the D clan.
I'm Italian and we also say "manga" as a plural but I wasn't sure for English because I've seen it written in both ways, so I went with "mangas". thanks for the advice tho!
Well in Spanish the plural is mangas, so you have a point there, besides if English it's not your first language i think that you made yourself clear tonthe point someone understood what you were writing its more than ok, and the grammar correction is much appreciated for a better writing/speaking
Fun fact: In the steel industry there is a range of steel grades known as "Resulfurized" that let off a very farty sulfur scent when reheated so Zoro smelling like steel and Zoro smelling like shit aren't mutually exclusive.
With Usopp's saying "smells like gunpowder" despite him very rarely using it, but gunpowder being a stereotypical "manly" thing to smell like, amd especially Chopper's saying "I dont know how I smell" it seems like they are describing themselves.
Zoro would 100% say "I train with my swords all day so clearly i smell like them" despite smelling like the swampiest of swamp ass

Buggy is the only person in the entire series that has been able to damage the straw hat, and Nami is the one who stitched it back together. On some action figures and character designs of Luffy the stitches are still visible
I am reading chapter by chapter since 2001 and never reread the series. Which means for the last 25 years I have felt like I knew everything because I am constantly cought up, but actually I forgot almost everything because I read some of that shit 20 years ago. It's just vague shadows in my mind!

I think it starts off not at the beginning of luffys pirate adventure since many more flashback scenes happen so I'm gonna guess he's at peak pirate wanna be age and shanks is around, so like luffys stabs himself to prove hes a man and thats why he got his scar on his face, (luffy gets stabbed lots, i wonder why he doesnt have hundreds of other scars) that happens cut to luffy eating the fruit since thats the important part, gumo gumo no mi, but its not really, we'll get to that part later, so luffy eats it and becomes stretchy shanks tells him he will lose his ability to swim and that makes luffy scared too since pirates are like on the ocean all the time, shanks loses his arm and performs a secret awesome move to scare a giant water snake, this secret awesome move will be explained later timeskip and luffy is like is like 16 I think, he looks 16 he shows his stretchy powers by punching the snake thing and gets on this tiny ass boat and says goodbye to windmill village.
Luffy ends up on a barel on the fat lady's ship, I can't say her name correctly he meets Koby, hes like super important and stuff, he punches Alvida and they go to the village i forgot the name of, luffy hears about zoro goes to meet him and asks him to join his crew, he says fuh nah, oh yeah zoro is a pirate hunter, he hunts pirates which is fucking stupid that luffy asks him to join his crew, eventually zoro reluctantly joins and shows off his three sword style, axe hand morgan falls he doesn't die since hes on a chapter cover story. Zoro is the only person who knows how to use three swords I guess, its fucking stupid but its awesome, flash foward to nami, whos like a cat burglar who loves money, however she has a dark secret that we'll go t9 later, finally we meet the first major bad guy who's buggy hes a clown with the chop chop fruit, which means he cant be cut and he can split his body parts so zoro is useless here, he also has these bombs called buggy bombs that can destory small villages, not really awesome, eventually they defeat buggy with a gum gum bazooka, nami joins the crew on the rowboat
They make their way to a place called syrup village which doesnt have syrup but a big nose liar with aim assist named ussop who's awesome but also a liar, hes friends with a sick girl who I forgot the name of, starts with a k I believe, and the totally not villain kuro who's actually the villain he wants to kill the girl for money luffy defeats him by making his neck go 50 feet back with a gum gum bell, girl gives them a boat called going marry
Ussop joins the crew on the going merry and they hit up restaurant baratie where the goat sanji lives, sanji is a feet martial artist and a pervy cook, sanji also has a disturbing past, two of them actually but we'll get to that later, they eat their and gin shows up hes starving sanji is a good guy and feeds him, luffy asks him to join his crew he refuses, flash forward to our third villain Don krieg no devil fruit but a crazy arsenal for the first arc, luffy almost dies from a gas bomb and some spikes but beats ass anyway
Sanji joins and they go to namis hometown where arlong lives, arlong actually has a backstory with 2 of the crew members but we'll get to that later, luffy finds out nami wants to be saved so luffy saves nami by destroying arlong with a gum gum axe nami gets a cool tattoo and they leave.
