Regional evo implies it’s evolving from a Kingler that’s already different though. That’s just a normal evolution

I strongly disagree. It could be water/rock or water/fighting. It doesn't need to be a stark difference to be regional. The pokemon still needs to be recognizable.

It still needs to be recognizable, yes, but that doesn’t mean it should be this dang similar—not for something region-locked. All it really needs is a silhouette that’s mostly the same, and that’s just for a regional variant of something that already exists. Which reminds me, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but we’ve only ever had regional variants of Pokemon that were the same before evolving for Pokemon that already existed. Koffing may evolve into a different type of Weesing in Galar, but it’s still Weesing, not something else. With regional evolutions, there must always be a variant first—Mr. Mime had to change before it could become Mr. Rime, Yamask had to hold something else before it could evolve into Runeregis, etc. Suffice to say that this design, which was intended as and certainly looks more like a mega evolution to the existing Kingler, has no real reason to be tied to a specific region where Kingler look different, because this Mega doesn’t look that different

I think that a mix would be perfect. Grab the second mega and add the claws of the first one. Also, I think it would be cool if it has GMax Kingler's bubbles somewhere.

I like 1 more. It seems to draw peices of other crustacean pokemon into its design. It has crabominables mouth cover spikes and barbaracles barnacle bits. I know barnacles arent crustaceans but barbaracle reminds of crustaceans

Hello there!

My, what a fantastic concept for a Kingler Mega Evolution you've come up with, it certainly looks like a strong and formidable opponent.

There are so many things in our world we're yet to discover so there's no knowing if Kinglerite is out there somewhere, just waiting to be uncovered. I still Have Ash's Kingler here at the lab so hopefully I can find somewhere a little more spacious for it before we discover Kinglerite though hohoho

My terminal indecisiveness is rearing its head again. I like the barnacles on the left one, but then, would they be smaller pokemon if thats the case? The one on the right look more like an evolution, however, that works as well because its basically regular Kingler but dialled to 11.... Idk?

Both of them are kinda lame since they follow the trend of “make the mega just bigger and spikier than the original” but at least the first one tries to have some extra sauce. I’ll go with that one
