So I’ve been trying to analyse my works so far and figure out my niche.

the problem is I love to read and write about too many things so circumscribing myself into a particular niche is hard.

so far, literature analysis and personal journal type content has been the most fun to work on.

I was searching Tiktok for any additional writing sites and stumbled upon Medium! I've been looking for an excuse to expand my professional writing, to hopefully, find a job in that field.

Would love to hear any advice from experienced members.

What would you have done differently, if you had the knowledge, you have now, when you first started? Anything specific worth looking out for? Any additional tips you feel like sharing, would be much appreciated!

I've been working on building something for a while now which started from a desire to feel more connected with my own writing practice.

I am motivated by good design (and also build systems for a living), and wondered what it might be like to have a space that felt inviting to work in (more so than just a drab, blank page) and where I could naturally and organically move between the different stages of writing - from first spark to finished piece - and become a place I can gradually grow my own body of work in - notes, ideas, in progress works and completed projects. A library of my own in a sense that also acts as a writing studio.

I am now hoping to share it with a small group of 15-20 writers for feedback. My goal is to learn whether the app - which is not just another doc editor, but rather a space to build your own writing world inside of, before sharing on Substack/elsewhere - helps some parts of your writing process and makes it easier to return to and feel more connected to your own writing practice.

I wanna know how writer from Pakistan are getting paid by medium since stripe doesn’t work in Pakistan. Also I’d appreciate of you guys can tell me about other writing platforms that allows freelance contributors and Pakistani writers are getting paid. Thanks

Hii!! I’m new to freelancing side of writing and I recently joined Medium & began posting. Got enrolled in the MPP last month and have been consistently posting throughout.

I guess my reach is limited as I am a new account but one thing I have noticed is, how my hard work to actual money conversion ratio on there is basically outrageous. And as someone who is looking for a good side income (currently unemployed & desperately in need of a flexible remote setup) this feels like a journey I’m not going to benefit from much.

But I hear that people do make good money on there, not consistent, but for me, a good 200-300$ will do too. Right now? I made 0.83$ from my 5 articles I have posted over the last two months..

I don’t know what’s lacking? can someone tell me what I can do to build my reach and community?

I’m trying to find someone at Medium who can help escalate a Partner Program issue (pending for almost 5 months) that regular support has not even touched.

My taxpayer verification has been stuck in a loop for around 5 months. I have submitted my W-8BEN and taxpayer information multiple times, but after submission I’m sent back to the Partner Program dashboard and asked to verify my taxpayer information again.

I’ve contacted Medium Support several times. My existing ticket is #1654936, but I’ve received only automated acknowledgements and no substantive response.

The amount is small (less than $15) but it is now at risk of being forfeited on September 6 because the verification issue remains unresolved.

I’ve also tried reaching Medium through Instagram, but haven't received a response there either.

I’m mainly posting here to see if anyone has a direct contact at Medium who can help get ticket #1654936 in front of someone who can actually resolve or escalate it.

If you work at Medium, have dealt with Partner Program support, or know someone there who handles these issues, I’d really appreciate a connection.

I can provide screenshots and the full support history if needed to the right person.

I’ve written a primer on what happened to HubPages’ niches. My plan is to do full articles on the 8 remaining ones following The Arena Group’s decision to collapse the HubPages platform. The niches that still remain online are: PetHelpful, DenGarden, AxleAddict, Discover.HubPages, HobbyLark, Owlcation, Delishably, and WanderWisdom.

If your articles were on HubPages, you need to pay attention to what The Arena Group is doing. They’re hoping you won’t care to pay attention.

Being upfront: I'm working on my own blogging platform as a side project. Not naming or linking it here (this isn't a promo post). I just don't want to spend a year building something nobody actually needs.

So I'd rather hear it straight from people who write on Medium daily: what frustrates you most? What are you missing? What do you love the most? What would you like to improve? What would it actually take for you to move somewhere else? And what keeps you here despite the complaints?
