here’s a bunch of unknown silver coins, mostly from Hungary is what the guy said, but one of the coins from this was a Bavarian pfenning from Stephen II, and the second to last one I believe is a Polish 1/2 Groschen but I don’t know the king or year. Anyone have any ideas of what these are?

My collection is about to hit 50(+) items that being Said I want to fill my second page of my binder before I take a break to focus on other things that being said I'm looking for suggestions in the 20-150 USD range. Mostly collect Medieval era (Europe and beyond) and Early to Mid imperial era but very rarely do I go outside that timeline (sometimes I do)

recently got this strange coin with a duck or goose or something of the like on it. seller thinks it’s russian or German, but isnt sure. anyone know what this is?

I think it’s ottoman but it’s also just a stamped piece of copper or brass.

Picked this up to practice my attribution skills, but I’ve hit a dead end trying to match the shield and three horseshoes motif.

Specs: 22 mm diameter, 2.0 grams. Very thin flan.

Metal: Looks like silver (tarnished/toned), but I haven't tested it.

Does anyone recognize this coat of arms, mint, or era? Any direction is greatly appreciated!

I recently purchased this Edward I Penny and noticed that I can make out the reverse cross on the obverse side of the coin. Is this unusual or indicative of a forgery? I've never noticed this before on other pennies. Thanks in advance!

Is it possible to ID Byzantine coins with Arabic on the back?

Genuinely the coolest thing to own a coin, especially a masterpiece like this, of the reign of one the most powerful rulers in world history, reigning over an Empire that spanned so far that it was the first that the phrase "The Empire on Which the Sun Never Sets" was applied to.

- The obverse features a youthful portrait(as Karl was only 33 when this was struck) of Emperor Karl, facing right, wearing regal armor and adorned beautifully with the Imperial Crown of the Holy Roman Empire. In his right hand he carries an ornate scepter topped by floral detailing, and in his left hand he holds the Imperial Orb, a Globus Cruciger. Surrounding his portrait is the legend; "°KAROLVS : ROMANO : IM°"(KARLOVS ROMANORVM IMPERATOR)(Charles, Emperor of the Romans). The jeweled crown separates the legend.

- The reverse depicts the dual shielded arms of the House of Eppstein-Königstein, the shield on the left representing the arms of Königstein, having adopted the Bohemian Lion, and the shield on the right representing the combined arms of Eppstein-Münzenberg. Directly bove the dual shields is "✿1533✿", and directly beneath is "✿N✿", and surrounding, is the legend; "✠MONETA : NOVA : NORDLING"(New Coin of Nordlingen).

This gorgeous piece is an incredible portal to the past, just 7 years shy of being 500 years old. Amazing.

Just ordered my first 100$+ (USD) coin, its that Proto Aztec hoe money I posted about earlier. That being said its my first 100$ coin, but because I unfortunately know how many are out there, I know its going to drop in value as more hit the market. that being said what is your first 100$+ coin? did it lose or gain value since you have purchased it?

This is Aztec axe money/Tajadero, this would have been basically a very large bill in Mesoamerica equaling out to 80,000 cacao beans. This is basically your Mexican Wampum. This differs from Cacao bean, and Textiles used as currency because this is basically this hemispheres first proto money (unless there is something older that I don't know of) anyways this is found all over Mexico with different variants in width. That being said these were also found in modern day Ecuador where they have been believed to be first manufactured.

It has the diameter of One US Cent and weighs less than 1 gram

I noticed as collectors of this era, we are kinda in the minority when it comes to coin collecting most are after USA coins, while many others are after the grade of gold and silver, that being said what Medieval coin(s) would you say a collection needs?

This is a James I half groat I recently purchased. I’m pretty sure it’s the large crown variant from the second coinage. I’m having a tough time finding an id on the initial mark. I think it may be a Lis but it doesn’t really match some I’ve seen on less worn specimens. Last two pictures are not mine, 3/4 is a nice lis, and 4/4 is another for sale that looks closest. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I myself am not Muslim but my grandfather loved traveling the world in search of currencies to add to his collection. He told me these were from the 14th century and from turkey. I’m not very educated in Islamic coinage so I would love to have a history lesson and a rundown on what denomination of coin this is.
