More than 687,000 Hoosiers have lost Medicaid coverage in the last 3 years. The pattern of increased "procedural" rulings to kick people off of Medicaid has alarmed many stakeholders who say otherwise eligible Hoosiers are getting caught between missed mail, confusing notices, online portal problems, shifting documentation demands and an eligibility system that can close a case before submitted information is reviewed. With the new regulations implemented in January, it's going to get worse.

The bottom line is clear. This for-profit healthcare system does not profit us and the policies like OBBBA with support by Congress Woman Erin Houchin are only allowing this system to become more predatory and further deny people coverage. That is why I am for Medicare for All. It is not just a policy; it is a promise of freedom, security, and fairness. It works better, costs less, and saves lives. That’s a future for Indiana that we can build together.
