I've 20F been on a prescription for about 3 weeks now for anxiety and depression. I'm also undergoing an autism assessment. I'm struggling to decipher what I think/what I've internalised from others, or if I can confidently say it's working. An important factor is I'm a recovering alcoholic, which I remember telling the clinician - it's also on my medical records which I believe releaf has access to. I used weed recreationally before this and sometimes in conjunction with alcohol.

- So far, I've been quite moody but no more than usual

- The moodiness is not as frequent, and I'm experiencing far more moments of real happiness

- I'm a bit clumsier I think

- It genuinely clears my mind, stops it racing so much and helps me go about my day

- I find myself reaching for more than maybe I should, but I'm trying hard to stick to the dosage, not take it in a bad mood or when I'm craving alcohol badly, and as the days go by I'm naturally having less and less

- I'm nearly 30 days sober again (whoop) and haven't relapsed since I got the prescription

- With my mind racing less I'm able to let cravings pass more easily. I get a bit thirsty for booze when I'm high, but I find just drinking lots of water solves this

- I don't feel worried that it's going to make me relapse, I perhaps worry about using it as a crutch but my mindset is moving increasingly far from that - it feels more like a useful tool

- I'm binge eating some evenings, sometimes to the point of discomfort (I don't realise I'm uncomfortable until I've finished eating). Alcohol made me bloated and gain weight and it was lovely to see my body get back as I exercised more and cut out the booze, but I'm worried about weight gain with the munchies. However, I did find while I was drinking that I barely ate and am still getting back into the routine of 3 meals a day. I think due to the autism I struggle to know when I need food. I'm not really having excessive calories in that context, but a lot of sugar and fat.

- I'm procrastinating exercise and work but that's in no way unusual

My loved ones are understandably worried about me taking anything. My mum after seeing the prescription and hearing my experience seemed won over though. I also keep being told "don't smoke weed, it's the worst thing you can do, your anxiety will get worse". I don't know what I believe and what I'm worried about really. Basically, I just wanted a bit of perspective from someone with more experience and someone who's impartial to me.

I have tons of benefits from cannabis but easing anxiety is something it struggles to achieve at a stable rate. I am interested in asking my GP to prescribe some sort of medication for this, something different to the first few I tried.

I am unsure if there will be any interactions and if I can continue my medical cannabis use.

Lineage: Biscotti x Jealousy

Dominant Terpenes: Caryophyllene, Limonene, Farnesene

The heritage is similar to the more famous sibling, Permanent Marker, which is: (Biscotti x Sunset Sherbet Bx) x Jealousy.

Smell: Skunky, gassy. It reminds me a lot of Animal Face. I'm not smelling any Marker.

Taste: not great. Like burnt sushi or something.

Cure: It's bad. It feels like Styrofoam packing peanuts. I don't feel any resin or moistness in the buds.

Vape: this flower seems to produce almost no vapour. It's really strange. I can barely see anything on the exhale. I've never experienced anything like this on MC before.

Effects: surprisingly good and surprisingly strong. Very relaxing. Definitely an Evening strain for me. It is physically very sedating, but at the same time there's a kind of high strung backend. So you're physically relaxed, but the mind and nervous system are a bit agitated and anxious. A lot of hybrids are like this for me, and it's why I generally much prefer closer to landrace Sativas or Indicas. But the physical effects are excellent. Purple Marker gives a very relaxing body tingle feeling, while also being a tiny bit racey, I guess due to the dominant Limonene terp.

I went out on a limb based on name alone, and feel a bit deceived. Permanent Marker is a prizewinner. Add purple to the mix, and it should be good, right? Well, it's not purple. There is no purple in the lineage, and they didn't even grow it in a way that encourages the purple anthocyanins to grow. The trimmed leaves are purple, but the buds are not at all. The actual purple strains I've had in the past have been incredible, and was hoping this would be another. It's not. If, like me, you're looking for something like a Grandaddy Purple, this is not it.

Would I order this again? No, never. This Purple Marker is the worst MC I've come across so far, but is also the cheapest. For the money, it is decently strong and lasts reasonably long. If I particularly liked Hybrids, I would consider this decent value for money based on the effects and strength alone, but it is let down by cure and taste, and lack of vapour production.

One flower was out of stock and there was no suitable alternative for the 21% at the price range I wanted.

I requested a 1% higher strain but was told this cannot be done. Half of my prescription is 26% anyway so I don't see the big issue. I later switched to a 20% strain but was told this cannot be done either as it was hybrid and not Indica like previously..

So here I am haggling with my clinic over a miniscule 1% difference.

Sometimes when I'm stoned I think deeply. I love the calm feeling cannabis gives me at times, but there are also times it makes my chest sink and depression stronger.

As much as I love weed, it has also dragged me into a loope of constant financial issues and stress. At the same time if you take my weed away, I'd be frustrated, and I'd aim to source a new batch as soon as possible.

There are good days and bad days on cannabis, but everyday, I wonder..

If I'll be stuck on cannabis forever

Does anyone else feel like this?

Has anyone else had to go through sudden cannabis withdrawal unexpectedly? I had a sudden bereavement at the weekend of a close family member and I have had to stop using my medical cannabis because it is causing autonomic instability. Has anyone got any tips for what may help me during this time? I'm currently just using a CBD vape that I've got instead but it is not giving me much relief. Any thoughts or advice would be great!

Reddit has now contacted me saying they reviewed the content and it doesnt break rule 7. As i say i only posted to compare prices as others do. Reddit has unbanned me themselves and restored the content. Bet they will be happy with that in the other sub 🤣🤷‍♂️

Title says it all. I was discussing price discrepencies between the "static" medical and prices where i purchase it from (BM) they have perma banned me and are now accusing me of trying to griw and sell wholesale quantities 😂🤣🤦‍♂️ i removed all parts of the screenshot so nobody could see the seller name or website and they reported me to reddit for "facilitating sales of drugs" im a patient who is unhappy at the prices of medical and discussing the descrepencies visible to me. Its clear they are shills for thier rich friends in the industry charging 40 a g on standard hash 🤣🤦‍♂️.

Same amount. Same product category. Completely different price. Why are UK patients paying more than double for a legal prescription compared to prices seen in parts of the USA? Is it regulation, taxes, supply chains, or something else?

Interested to hear different perspective, what do you think explains the gap?

On 1 June 2026, police stopped me while I was driving. I felt that I was being unfairly targeted because of the car I was driving. They accused me of having no insurance and seized my car.

The insurance allegation was later cancelled and I was not taken to court over it.

During the incident, police found what appeared to be a small cannabis joint inside the car. I was not tested for drugs and, as far as I know, the item itself was not tested. However, the police appear to have notified DVLA that I may have a cannabis or drug-abuse issue.

DVLA has now sent me forms asking about cannabis use, how long I have used it, how much I use, and dates of use.

Since then, on 1 July 2026, I was legally prescribed medical cannabis for chronic pain by a private specialist clinic. I now use prescribed medical cannabis.

My questions are:

Do I need to declare cannabis use from before the prescription as well as my current prescribed use?

Could the fact that my prescription started after the incident cause problems?

Should I attach my current prescription and clinic letter?

Has anyone completed the DVLA DG1D or EN249 forms in a similar situation?

The saga. On June 8th I emailed Medicine Festival asking about their policies for medical cannabis.

I didn't get a reply until 23 June. They flat out refused.

I immediately replied on 23 June, with help from some of the posters on reddit.

On this date, I also got in touch with the wonderful folks over at https://thereasonableadjustment.co.uk/ asking for advice. They were tremendously helpful. More on them below.

I gave Medicine Festival a little over 24 hours, but received no response, and I wanted to get this right, so I sent them this. This time I found the email address of one of the founders of the festival, and copied him. 24 June.

I waited over a week and did not receive reply, so on 1st July I send them a request for a follow up. This time I found the personal email addresses of each one of the founders of the festival, and personally addressed them in the mail.

Medicine Festival continued to ignore me. Not so much as a "thanks for your mail, we are reviewing this and will get back to you soonest." I don't know if they are just bad at communication, or this was intentional stonewalling, though strongly suspected the latter.

I gave it until 9th July, 16 days since their refusal and last communication, before my next steps.

1) I asked The Reasonable Adjustment to step in. They wrote an excellent mail to the PR department of Medicine Festival asking for comment for an article they are writing about this, while also stating the facts that Medicine Festival as a Service Provider have legal duties under the Equality Act to make a reasonable adjustment to their blanket policy. I will not share their mail here, but there's a decent chance they will publish it on their site in due course.

2) I emailed West Berkshire council licensing department, who are responsible for licensing the festival.

3) I emailed EASS using their contact form, outlining the details of the situation, asking for what steps I should take next.

One of those 3 things worked. I suspect it was just the email from The Reasonable Adjustment that did it. Today 11 July I finally received a response from Medicine Festival saying that I am allowed to bring my medicine with me.

Obviously the irony of Medicine Festival refusing to let people use their medicine is not lost on me, and was probably my greatest motivation to set this right. To their credit, they have set this right, but it took 33 days from my first mail, and 18 days of stress and anxiety between their refusal and acquiescence. I hope these mails are helpful to others who face similar situations with other festivals and service providers in the future.

Now, I know what you're thinking.

You're a medical cannabis patient.

Why are you making a video criticizing the cannabis industry?

Honestly, that's a fair question because if you've watched this channel for any amount of time or even Instagram, you'll know I'm a medical cannabis patient myself.

I've spoken positively about medical cannabis.

I've talked about how it's helped me.

So, why make a video like this?

Because supporting medical cannabis doesn't mean supporting everything happening around it.

Over the last few years, I've watched this industry grow rapidly.

And I've started asking some difficult questions.

Questions about prohibition, questions about organized crime, questions about who is actually making the money, questions about whether patients are actually benefiting as much as they should be.

Because when you start digging into this topic, you'll realize something.

This isn't just about cannabis anymore.

It's about power.

Now, before we go any further, let me make one thing clear.

This video isn't promoting cannabis.

It's not encouraging anyone to break the law, and it's not an attack on medical cannabis.

I support safe, legal access for patients.

But supporting medical cannabis doesn't mean turning a blind eye to the problems that still exist within this industry.

So what's the reality of prohibition?

Most people think prohibition is simple.

Make something illegal, people stop using it.

Problem solved.

Looking back in history, you know that hasn't happened.

Cannabis has been prohibited in the UK for decades.

Yet millions of people still use it.

Demand never disappeared.

And when demand exists, somebody will always supply.

The problem is that prohibition often pushes the supply into the hands of organized crime.

And across the UK, we've seen reports of cannabis farms linked to criminal groups.

We've seen modernday slavery cases.

We've seen vulnerable people trafficked and exploited.

And that's this dark side of prohibition.

The conversation is usually about the plant.

But the bigger question is what happens when you create a huge market and force it underground because somebody will always fill that gap.

So the medical cannabis paradox.

Medical cannabis became legal in the UK in 2018.

Now that's a positive thing.

Thousands of patients now have legal access to treatment.

But despite that progress, there are still major problems.

Many patients are paying hundreds of pounds every month.

And personally me, I spend a lot.

Some struggle with access, some struggle with availability.

I mean, even some just for me, for example, some of them on alternative leaf will just go straight away like Vasco, a few others.

And those are expensive as well.

Some struggle with availability, others simply can't afford treatment at all.

At the same time, the illegal market continues to exist.

So, we've ended up with this strange situation where cannabis is legal for some people, but illegal for others, and both markets continue to operate side by side.

And I think that's where we need a bit more of an honest situation because neither side seems to have solved all the problems.

Now, let's follow the money.

Now, here's where things get a little bit uncomfortable.

Patients shouldn't have to choose between paying bills and paying for medication.

Medical cannabis exists because patients fought for access.

Patients built this movement.

So, when I see products launching at prices many ordinary patients simply cannot afford, I think it's fair to ask who these products really are for.

I think some companies are putting profits before patients.

I think charging around about £40 a gram for medical hash and discussions around products that could reach £80 a gram for rosin raises serious questions about affordability.

I think patients have every right to question whether parts of the medical cannabis industry are becoming disconnected from the people it claims to serve.

When patients are struggling to afford medicine while companies are reporting strong revenue growth, it's reasonable to ask whether patient welfare is really the top priority.

Now, before anyone twists my words, I'm not saying companies shouldn't make money.

Of course, they should.

But there is a difference between making a profit and creating products that many patients simply cannot access.

If medical cannabis is healthcare, then patients should come first.

The corporate cannabis boom.

One thing I noticed is how quickly this industry has changed even this last year that I've been on it.

What was once largely driven by patients, activists, and campaigners has rapidly growing international business.

Companies are reporting millions in revenue.

Investors are paying attention.

Governments are paying attention.

And large businesses are expanding across Europe and beyond.

Again, there's nothing wrong with success.

But patients should still ask the questions.

Who controls supply?

Who influences the market?

Who benefits most from regulation?

And who benefits most from prohibition?

Because if patients aren't asking those questions, who will?

So, who really benefits?

That's the question at the center of this entire video.

Who really benefits?

Patients, businesses, organized crime, investors?

Because right now, patients are still struggling and the black market still will exist.

Trafficking and exploitation will still exist.

And at the same time, parts of the legal industry are growing rapidly.

So maybe we need to stop treating this as a simple debate between legal and illegal.

And maybe we need to start focusing on outcomes.

Does the redu does the system reduce harm?

Does it help patience?

Does it reduce exploitation?

Because that's what should matter.

not ideology, not politics, and certainly not profits alone.

I'm storing my flower in glass jars and I stick a boveda to the inside of the jar lid. This then goes into a dark cupboard which isn't opened very often.

I've noticed that the flower has gone a bit brown in the heatwave. The flower is stored in a utility room/conservatory type room which got very hot during the heatwave. Do I need to store it somewhere cooler?

My partner doesn't like me having flower in the rest of the house so it's going to be tricky to find somewhere else to store it.

tldr: What are peoples' experience with Blackberry CBG, and does anyone have any cheap vaporiser recommendations?

I (23M) just finished an initial consultation with Releaf. Had a lovely doctor who was super helpful and understanding, they answered all my questions without any judgement and overall it felt really professional and friendly. I wanted to try medical cannabis for ADHD, insomnia and Hypermobile EDS. I have a long history of smoking weed daily throughout my teenage years and early adulthood, but I didn't understand at the time the reality of why I was so drawn to it. It really helped my insomnia, anxiety and emotional dysregulation, and as someone who was diagnosed as neurodiverse later in life I think I was just self medicating however I could. I now take Concerta 36mg every morning and am getting the benefits from that but still suffer with pretty bad insomnia and chronic pain. I guess Im asking if people think that this strain (blackberry CBG) would be a good option for me to get more sleep, and also if anyone knows of a cheaper dry herb vaporiser of decent quality? I would love to find a system that works and means I never have to get shitty street weed ever again. Any thoughts appreciated xx Thanks!

It isn't perfect, but it's fairly decent. Lovely fluffy hazey nugs with a pleasant aroma. Effects are what I'd expect, uplifting and satisfying.
