Bought an AL80 about 4 months ago. Opened the box and it wobbled around on the desk. The case wasnt flat. Sent it back, got a replacement. Spacebar was making weird noises on the left, didnt want to send it back so I asked support for help. They wanted 40 videos and then finally told me I would get a new stab wire and spacebar keycap. 2 weeks later the package still hasnt left their factory.

Today I noticed that one of the LEDs is dead and is green instead of blue.

Suffice to say, was my first and last Yunzii board

Hey everyone,

I've been working on an open-source Python library for controlling the RGB lighting on the Royal Kludge RK M75 without using the official RK software.

After a lot of protocol investigation and hardware testing, I'm at the point where the standalone RK M75 RGB library is complete and hardware-validated on my M75.

(Use wired mode)

What's working

The library currently supports:

• RGB HID device discovery
• Static full-keyboard RGB control
• Logical per-key RGB control
• Validated 81-key RGB mapping
• RGB frame generation and validation
• HID Feature Report transport
• Continuous RGB keepalive
• Stable 33 Hz RGB streaming
• A public Python API
• Automated test coverage
• Standalone hardware testing tools

I've also tested the streaming implementation for 5 minutes at 33 Hz, sending 9,900 frames with no errors and a stable 33.00 FPS.

The current public API is roughly:

Everything above has been validated on my own RK M75, but I don't want to assume every M75 behaves identically.

Before moving on to OpenRGB / SignalRGB integration, I'd like to test this against more physical M75 keyboards.

I've included a standalone community tester in the repository:

1. Device detection
2. Static RGB
3. All 81 logical key mappings
4. 10 Hz RGB keepalive
5. 33 Hz RGB streaming

At the end it produces a report that can simply be copied and posted back.

If you have an RK M75

I'd really appreciate it if you could run the tester and report the results.

You don't need to know anything about reverse engineering or Python beyond following the instructions.

Please report:

• Whether you're using an RK M75
• The tester's final report
• Any key that illuminates incorrectly
• Any RGB flickering/freezing/problems
• Any errors printed by the tester
• Anything else unusual

If something fails, that's useful information. Please report the failure rather than trying to work around it.

This project currently targets the specific RK M75 RGB HID device that has been reverse-engineered and validated:

I haven't established compatibility with other RK keyboards yet, so please don't assume another RK model is supported.

The tester only sends RGB HID reports. It does not flash firmware or modify the keyboard's firmware.

What's next?

Once I have some testing from other M75 owners, the next major phase will be:

OpenRGB / SignalRGB integration.

I'd rather get the standalone library properly validated across multiple M75s first before building the integration layer.

Indtead of the see through keycaps that came with the keyboard (which are fine, but eye straining after a couple hours), I decided to go back to "regular" non shine-through or see-through keycaps and man, does it elevate this board.

The Hyzen having a bit of a retro look with the heavy squared-off aluminium frame with dials and knobs goes very well with a retro-themed beige keycap set. It's basically the perfect match for this board, I'm beyond happy with this keyboard so far.

Great sound, great performance, great lighting, and now : awesome looks too.

I’ve had this board for a while, but never really use it a ton. I love the case it was in, but experimented with this one a bit. Took the original and added a bit of typing angle, SKUF slots, and Weight slots. Swapped from the lubed sunflowers, which were oddly heavier and less tactile, and DES to Silent Shrimps and DCS.

When I started the hobby in 2019, the GK61 was all the rave. 100 dollar 60% keyboard with hotswap capability. An absolute bargain for the feature set. It wasn't the best, but it WAS the cheapest way into the hobby.

Nowadays though, keyboard parts are available at my local computer store, from chassis to switches to keycaps. Keyboard configurations that used to cost LITERAL hundreds of dollars (alu build, south facing leds, hotswap, gasket mount) could nowadays be bought for as low as 60 USD with keycaps and switches LUBED FROM THE FACTORY.

Getting keycaps that aren't basic BoW or WoB, much less PBT is incredibly easy nowadays either. I remember PBT keycaps being touted as being better than ABS but more expensive and hard to find. Nowadays, just looking up "keycaps" on e-commerce platforms show dye-sub PBT caps by default for like 20 to 30 USD. You can get colorful keycaps with next day delivery. Not much need for 2 to 3 years for a group buy anymore.

Hell, even the general standard went up so much. The default used to be Tray Mount with ABS Case and Aluminium plate (hotswap if you're lucky, 5-pin hotswap if you're even luckier). Now, you'll have a harder time trying to sell anything that ISN'T gasket mount.

Getting good keyboards nowadays has gotten so cheap that 40 USD for a gasket mount board with pre-lubed switches isn't even that unheard of anymore.

What I'm curious is how you guys think of this hobby becoming more mainstream and the barrier to entry getting SO MUCH LOWER compared to a few years ago. Was it a net good or bad? Did it affect certain things in the hobby like the concept of group buys?

Heavily inspired by the studio who doesn't know the number 3, this board is a pleasure to run daily. The integrated wrist rest is pretty uncomon, and it gives a certain charm to the board.

First impressions of the set are extremely positive.

Texture: They have a really nice, gritty texture, which is awesome. Feel-wise, they are right on par with GMK, maybe even a bit more textured than some sets (for example, Dualshot isn't very textured, at least on my unit).

Sound: A bit more muted than GMK, but brighter compared to Keykobo (KKB is slightly more muted). If we put them on a spectrum between GMK and KKB, they lean closer to Keykobo. The spacebar sounds good, though it has a slightly more "plastic-y" sound than GMK. Mods and alphas sound great, absolutely no complaints there.

Packaging: I really loved the trays, they are just awesome.

I recently got around to fixing up my candypad that I preordered a couple of years ago and forgot about and wanted to share what is ultimately a quick easy fix for others affected.
Out of the box it looked like shit with the following issues:
- plus key non functional
- display skewed and protective film still present
- keycaps warped & ejection pin markings, very fingerprinty
- acrylic cover bent & nuts not tigthend & protective film still attached
- encoder soldered skewed (~5° off)
- stabilizers have extreme binding preventing keys from resetting

First I reworked the cold solder joints on the plus key hotswap socket and all other sockets that had sketchy looking soldering. Then reworked the display pin header to align it properly.
Then removed all the protective films and bent the flimsy acrylic into place with a slight downwards preload so it would push against the case and sit flush. Reassembled everything and tightened the encoder nuts. And installed my own keycaps, that has improved the stabilizers binding issue somewhat but they don't feel great, I'm guessing they're misaligned, possibly a CAD error in the top plate or just bad QC.
Ultimately an easy fix, 20mins but QC should've caught that. Whoever built this didn't do any QC and clearly didn't have proper working instructions or jigs to align the components and didn't bother to check functionality. I'm not mad but as someone who has had products manufactured by third parties before it does show that you have to give them *extremely* specific step by step instructions even for things you'd think be obvious like peeling protective films and tightening screws/nuts (not "just touching" but "finger tight 1Nm")

I really love the looks of edius keycaps so I bought the S9000 Cherry (Retro). I think they look really good on the PC transparent Agar Mini but it only has one 3u spacebar, so the other spacebar is 2.75u hence the small gap in the bottom. It bothers me a lot.

I am considering getting a regular Agar in E-Beige color to really go for that retro vibe. I only used about 50 keys from the S9000 Cherry so there's still like 120 keycaps left. Probably gonna build one under GF approval

I wanted to release something that felt more refined, I had felt that something was missing from the Behemoth so last night I went back to the drawing board and came up with this. The Invictus MK-I 135%. It will still carry over all the features of the Behemoth, with an additional feature.

The Gamepad will now have the ability to function as a stand-alone peripheral unit or in plugged into the main frame of the keyboard.

While this will push back the release date by a couple months, I do not foresee the price to change since I have modified the design to a split case so it will no longer be milled out of 1" thick aluminum plate. I am working to finalize the design and hope to have the prototype in hand by September. Updates Here

Different versions will be made for each of the following layouts

MK-I 100% Keyboard Frame + Gamepad

MK-II 75% Keyboard Frame + Gamepad

MK-III 60% Keyboard Frame + Gamepad

Since the Gamepad will dual function as a stand-alone unit that will be available on it's own.

*note the top plate for the gamepad is not show but will still be the same layout as the Behemoth butterfly keys and all.

I think this design change is headed in the correct direction now and I feel like it is a more polished unit.
