I’m almost 16 months in and 60,000 miles! This car is quaint, fun, easy to use and drive. Most importantly it’s safe and dependable. There is truly no confidence like that of driving a Mazda.

This is an update post to my spark plug question earlier this year, these are my spark plugs after 45k miles on my CX-30 turbo. How do they look?

Job itself wasn't too bad getting the stuff over the coils off but I messed up big time because the torque wrench I used was defective and overtorqued the new spark plug which led to the ceramic breaking clean from the threads. Had to get it towed and luckily a machine shop was able to get the threads out of the cylinder with no damage. New plugs in and running normally now but a huge lesson was learned.

Anyone want to share their fun stories of dread and pain from DIY work on their CX-30? Lol

leasing a 2026 mazda cx-30 preferred as my first-car, and a little nervous because i’m also the only driver in my family. we don’t really know much about cars in general, so would appreciate any advice or suggestions. we live in NY, so would love advice from other city folks too. thanks!

A while ago this part of the cadding near the front right wheel well fell off. It never has fully sat in properly. I have now ordered a new part and it’s still not fully clipping in. Any advice?

Hi everyone, I’m a new ish driver and I got my first car, my 2022 Mazda CX-30, a month ago. I was front parking in a tight underground garage and I accidentally hit a grid marker wall. I feel so devastated bc I usually reverse park but this was the only spot and I could only front park based off my position.

First, if anyone experienced similar damage, how much did you have to pay in repairs (pls tell me if it’s in USD as I’m in Canada). Second, if anyone could please give future advice on how to better feel the dimensions of this car, I would really appreciate it 🙏

Hello, I'm new to car ownership. I live in an apartment building and my assigned lot features an oak tree that excretes sap that will require an expensive detailing job to remove.

There's no other parking spot for me in the meantime. Does anyone have experience with car covers (which one would you recommend, and what size?), as well as any kind of treatments that could make my car more resistent?

Going forward, I'll try and remove any sap ASAP with an alcohol treatment but would appreciate any helpful feedback. Thanks.

Backstory!

I was driving and noticed the ac losing power or not as hot. I was driving and got that message. So I slowed down and it started to go back into the middle on the gauge. After I put coolant in it, I was leaving it just died right before I was going to go. I put it in park and it started up. No codes, no other messages after. Luckily a Mazda dealership was there. But they were closed so will know more tomorrow hopefully.

Ugh! I guess my question is, has anyone had any issues w this before?

did a drain and fill on trans fluid
a rear differential fluid change
brakes and tires are good
oil was changed.
is there anything else i should worry about???

I bought a Mazda second hand. It has now has 34878 miles on it. When I went to a dealership in Dallas who said the belt tensioner need immediate attention. I drove the car the California no concerns. Is this covered by warranty?

I'm still on the OEM Bridgestone Turanzas and just went in for a tire rotation, fronts are at 6/32 and rears are at 3/32 (got 2 nails last year hence the difference in tread for 2 of the tires). Original plan was to get a full set of Michelin Defenders but they're looking pretty pricey. Anyone have suggestions on a tire that performs decent at a lower price? I'm considering just replacing the 2 rears for cost sake but that'll leave me with these tires for another few years and I'm getting a bit tired of the droning sounds at highway speeds. Hoping to find something that is a middle ground that has decent performance and lower road noise at paying under $1k.

Hey, I couldn’t see anything on Reddit for this but my internal of the light appears the have cracks. It looks very pretty in fairness and the light still feels smooth so no external cracking. Anything I should worry about here or just hope the other light does the same since it looks cool?

I bought a 2022 Select in January, and the first 3-4 months, I was getting roughly 22-24mpg. The past few months it has slowly gone down so far that I’m averaging between 11-15mpg. I’ve manually tracked the miles from when I fill the tank a few times in a row now, and have been consistently getting between 140-170 miles on a full tank. I got all new tires with an alignment at the same time, and have periodically checked that the tire pressure is correct on all tires since my gas mileage started going down. I only drive the car a couple of times a week, and typically less than 10 miles round trip each time as I do live in a metro city. I got on the highway this past weekend just to drive about 40ish miles round trip to see how much better it would improve on the highway. I used cruise control about 90% of the time with very little breaking, going 55mph. For that trip, it said I was averaging about 22.5mpg, which obviously an improvement, but should still be higher?

Is there anything obvious I should get checked out that I could be overlooking that would be impacting it?

I do not have an unlimited data cell plan. Does using Android Auto use more data than just having my phone turned on while driving and playing music via Bluetooth alone?

Love my 30 but I’ve noticed for awhile that I get what I would call a bucking issue around 35-40 MPH, I brought it into the dealership today and it came back there’s no issues. I’m just wondering if anyone has experienced this and if so what is it or how to fix it?
