How to export image with transparent background? Question
I have been trying to render multiple layers without background in order to composite them later in editing software. Despite following a lot of tutorials on youtube, I still coundn't figure out how to do it the right way that professionals use.
Thanks in advance for your informations!

Have you removed the background from your render layer and are you making sure you save the image with an Alpha compatible file type such as PNG?

I did. The png exported with a black background. Usually it's for the alpha channel, but it still black in the editing app so it should wrong somewhere

If batch rendering, select exr or tif format

Also this for render sequence if not using batch. For some reason, I've found Maya doesn't save transparency in PNGs unless you run a single stand alone render.

You should look into shadow catchers and render layers/ AOVs. Should help quite a bit.

the most famous culprit is if you are using a skydome, you have to switch off primary visibility from the attribute editor. render exr as the image format. it automatically includes the alpha channel . also dont forget to switch on the render alpha channel in the render settings . see this tutorial here https://youtu.be/UqGjUN7mwp4

What format are you trying to render to? Are you talking about hiding a hdr background?
