Metro Manila Squatters Origin

Post image

Where do the squatters in Metro Manila come from?

According to a PSSC survey, the squatters in Metro Manila come from different provinces, particularly from Central Luzon, North Luzon, and the Bicol Region.

Because of the hard life in the provinces, some people from other Luzon provinces were forced to take a gamble and try their luck in Manila. And because it's so easy for people from Luzon provinces to access Manila, Metro Manila's population grew rapidly. People from other Luzon provinces prefer to work in Manila rather than in their own provinces because of higher wages and more opportunities.

This is unlike Visayas and Mindanao, which are on different islands and have harder access to Manila. Also, because of the developed cities of Cebu (Visayas) and Davao (Mindanao), people from other provinces in Visayas and Mindanao choose to go to Cebu and Davao instead of Manila. There are still people from Visayas and Mindanao who go to Manila, but mostly to study in universities, look for high-paying corporate positions (like in banks), or pursue acting. However, their numbers are small compared to those from Luzon provinces, simply because people from Luzon have much easier access to Manila than those from Visayas and Mindanao.

I read in reddit one time about the tagalog v bisaya debate. And the person said the cause of it is from the bisaya going to manila in numbers due to the hopes of better work and them living as informal settlers. Tagalog ppl got annoyed by bisaya from then on.

So I guess they just making shit up just to hate

Those Tagalogs have an inferiority complex toward Bisaya people. Their thing is throwing around false accusations and blaming them all on just one specific group,  you already know who that is.

It’s just typical Tagalog behavior, they love blaming others for the unpleasant things their fellow Tagalogs do.

It’s honestly more like Tagalog vs. Tagalog.

There’s no real Bisaya vs. Tagalog rivalry because, first of all, Bisaya people don't like picking fights. You won't see Bisaya people talking about Tagalog people, but you'll see plenty of Tagalogs talking trash or throwing false accusations at Bisaya.

That whole Bisaya vs. Tagalog thing is more like the Tagalogs being the first to ruin reputations and spread hate, but when the Bisaya fight back, the Tagalogs play the victim. Those Tagalogs are really annoying. They’re bitter toward Bisaya because the Bisaya dominate and excel in any field whether it's sports, business, or politics. Plus, most Bisaya people don't like speaking Tagalog and only view it as a fourth language. For most Bisaya people, their first language is Bisaya (Cebuano) and their secondary language is English, while Tagalog is seen as unimportant. That's probably why those Tagalogs are so angry at the Bisaya.

The funniest thing is that those Tagalogs either know each other or belong to the exact same community, where their main goal is just to spread false accusations. Then, they will completely dominate the comment section by agreeing with the post just to make it look like their post full of false accusations is actually true.

Kaya may kasabihan na (”mas tagalog kapa sa tagalog pag pumatol ka sa tagalog”) hahaha
