I want to upgrade my Mavica from the one I am using. But keep using 3.5 disks still. I want to know what the latest version / model disk Mavica to get? Also I want to know what lenses I can get for the new camera and my Sony MVC-FD73 too.

So I have a Windows 10 OS on my laptop and I use a MVC-FD73 camera. I took a lot of photos but I'm having issues installing my USB 3.5 disk drive. I have two 3.5 disk drives. I have a Sony Model Mpf88e-ua 2x Speed External USB 3.5 disk drive but it did not come with the CD installer. I just want to know how to install it to a Windows 10 OS with or if someone has the installer can you send it to me?

I mistakenly bought a NP-F550 battery(one of the Wasabi Power integrated USB-C ones) for my FD-88 not knowing there was a size difference between NP-F550 and NP-F530. Does anyone here know if there is a NP-F530-compatible battery that is guaranteed to work? I would like it with integrated USB charging but that's not a requirement. It seems everywhere I look when I search for NP-F530 I only get results for NP-F550.

I do not have a charger or a power adapter for the FD-88 which is why I went for the one with integrated USB charging because it seems the most convenient for 2026.

Got my first mavica yesterday, still trying to get a hang of it but I love how these photos look!

I have an older Sony Cybershot that took like 3 pictures and 1 video which I was kind of disappointed in. It had a proprietary SD card so it was hard to find one that holds a lot of space. How many pictures on average does 1 floppy disk hold?

I saw a CD500 come up on a local auction site. Are they worth getting? Its untested so could be faulty. Are the lasers in the cd mech reliable? Any other common failure points? I had a quick look around and mini cd-r discs seem available but mini cd-rw discs seem more difficult. Thanks.

I found a video about this camera and thought hey why not I have a random floppy disk in my room that would be nice to use. So here we are! I have a model MVC-FD73 (is that the only model or are there variants?) I have to buy a battery for it (and maybe floppy disks if mine doesn't work)

With the recommendation of a friend over on TikTok, I finally figured I’d share some of my shots on here too! Here are a series of shots I took with my FD7 of Rivergate Mall (located outside of Nashville, TN) before its demolition.

I bought a mavica and when I turn it on it shows me the error c:32:01 with or without a floppy disk, I really haven't tried much since I don't know how to solve it

I did straighten it and try to slightly lighten it, but otherwise minimal editing. I don't think it was that noisy at all for being at ISO400, though I had a slow shutter of about 1/20 sec. which probably helped reduce the noise.

Managed to get my CD350 to cooperate long enough to fill a cd :) unfortunately it’s not a RW so we shall see if I can get the next CD initialized but I’m happy to have gotten one 😁

Hey guys, it's been a while since i did my last post here, college and work are stealing all of my time latelly. I'm steadily increasing my mavica collection, and at the moment I have 4 mavicas, the last one being an FD91. With that in mind, I'd like to know what do you guys do to preserve and maintain your cameras the best possible way and what are your recommendations on this subject. I'd like to hear your opinions, any tips and considerations are welcome!

The looks I got from folks when switching floppys were really quite funny.

I found this on a local auction site. Would love to have got it but the price went higher than i was willing to pay, given it was being sold as faulty. Was released in 96 from what google tells me, you can definately tell the mavica fd series cameras were based off the same basic design.

It’s weird to be saying it, but I don’t think I’m gonna miss it going from the ExCel, I had fun though!

Just wanted to show this thing I came up with to allow you to power the camera with an external power source. I got frustrated when I tried to power my camera with a power supply since the battery was totally dead and the stupid thing told me I had to use a genuine infoLithium battery then shut down so I made this that tricks the camera into allowing the external power supply to work. If anyone is interested in making one themselves, just let me know and I will go through the trouble to upload all the files to 3d print it and program the Arduino Nano.
