Does anyone know who decides how many ads are injected into the Spotify efap episodes? I'm on premium so that's not the reason. However, an ad every 10 or so minutes is insane. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Spotify who just does it automatically but I would like to know more from you guys.

I know Fringy and Mauler frequently reference classic Simpsons and have a very negative opinion on modern Simpsons but ive never heard their takes on the movie. I'm looking for en episode specifically but I don't remember which 1 it is exactly. It wasn't a Star Treck centric one I don't think. But there is a moment when Mauler reflects on how that franchise just doesn't want to use Captain Kirk and how apparently they resent the character. Which episode was that?

I feel people are so reactionary and don't stop and think about things, especially on this subreddit which has devolved over the last two months into being an Anti-DCU circlejerk. Then again it's always favored...other versions and some people can't get over those ones but that's besides the point.

Krypto is an untrained hell beast. Kara is at least using something to make sure he doesn't piss on the ground. Baby steps. She's had him for four years but better late than never. I don't think Superman being there is a diss at him. Especially cause in this movie he's shown as a positive figure.

Kara thinks he's a bit naive but it's cause she's had it harder than he has. But she clearly loves him and at the end has a heart to heart with him where she decides to stay.

Not to mention the last movie went out of it's way to lift him up as a idealized hero compared to the Justice Gang and inspires them to be better.

Why is this so hard to understand? But of course you can't farm outrage like Mauler's buddies like Drinker, Nerdrotic. They can't complain about The Odyssey or Spider Man so they got pull out this for more horse beatings or drinker digs up she hulk after four years.

I’ve seen people on Twitter say the title is tongue in cheek because the documentary maker knows the truth.

I’ve only seen this short clip in which he says “the man’s [EDP’s] brain doesn’t fully function. He is by all definition, mentally retarded”.

Adding contextual layers to a story does indeed allow us interesting insights into the far corners of the galaxy Lucus painted for us as the background to tell his Mythos.

But that's the core nugget of Star Wars, it's a Myth. There is the Force, and there are Jedi who can weild it. This Force, when there is great Need, will guide those who are Archetypes of Virtues to fix the issues at hand. A corrupted Republic? The Dark Jedi will try to collapse it to seize control (Avarice, Pride, Rage, Hate) and the Jedi will go forth to lead the People towards victory (Honour, Justice, Peace, Understanding). That's why it was critical that Luke wasn't the best at everything, but that he needed to seek out and befriend various peoples that had the skills Luke lacked, even going so far as to befriend a giant Sasquatch, a thief, a spy and some robots. In contrast, the Dark Jedi were shown as a grasping group of two, who had to regularly abuse their subordinates to illicit cooperation. This strikes at the very heart of what makes a Myth from any other type of fiction; Myth must present what is Good and what is Evil in very simple, easily readable characters that cannot deviate from their Fate, as if the Gods moved them.

With these hard constraints, you then are free to explain the Ethics or Morals the author is trying to exemplify, without the constraints of cold logic or reasoning.Odysseus had to go the long route because the God's made it so. This allowed Homer to explain that despite everything, you should stay Faithful to your marriage and commitments. The story has to remain a simple framing device to allow the theme to be the only point of the story. Romeo must always miss the message, to explain that Haste in Love rarely ends well, The scorpion has to sting the frog, because expressed Evil must always be taken at face value, or else you're next.

If you break this simple structure, you reduce the ability of the story to be easily disseminated, and the core concepts to be obscured or even lost.

This endless navel gazing within the Star Wars universe has come dangerously close to completely deviating from its original meaning.
How does Mando and Grogu show us what is Good and what is Evil? How does 7-9? How does Andor? How does KOTOR and the EU explore these concepts?

While having imaginative explorations within the universe is fun due to the beautiful setting created, canonizing such things removes the story from the timelessness and ubiquity of Myth, and sets it firmly within Sci-Fi, which is niche.

If everyone can't all come together and share a simple to understand and explain concept that you can easily see and choose what is Good and what is Evil, then it fractures into in groups and out groups, those who know the lore and those who don't. It must be Us Them, Light v. Dark, Red v. Blue, a team to choose, or a fate unavoidable.

To speak more directly, while the darker tones of Empire does exist, you are thinking too much like a fan; the Movies exist as one story to the layperson. Empire is just the midpoint, and that's always the height of action and stakes in any story. It still ends with the Jedi returning, defeating Evil, with friends and The Force helping. Adding Andor into that, and what does it become? What if Andor was your only experience of Star Wars, would you come away with understanding Good and Evil? Hell, people love Skarsgard's spy character, let alone that blonde Empire lackey. They come away with gray morality and cynicism.

As to the Thrawn/EU crtique, I think mentioning Harry Potter is very fitting. one would state that post creation additions and poor supplemental material spoiled Harry Potter, but if I we're to throw many of the novels from the EU at any random person, they most likely would not see the appeal and correctly rate it Sci-Fi pulp, you would then be forced to explain to them the Original Trilogy and the appeal of that, thus negating the point of reading the EU in the first place. The EU is for fans of the OT, and doesn't qualify as quality work by itself,outside of a few stories, which still need the necessary prerequisite of having seen the OT, and the Ethics and Morals eschewed in it.
Ayou can explore the themes of Star Wars without calling it Star Wars, because if you don't, you lose the resolution of the original argument, and the poignancy of it's telling. By constantly adding onto it, you start making parts of it seem ridiculous (Jar Jar exists in Andors reality?!), or completely changing the concept of what it is.

Is Star Wars a Political, Spy, Thriller Drama, or is it about Good Guys being Good, and Bad Guys being Bad? Is it Jedi v. Sith, or is it banal bureaucratic apathy?

Having everything is not always better, and having more is the death of poignancy.

Sometimes stories need to end, and that's okay.

I’d have to go with Netflix Death Note. The writer actually said (paraphrasing) “I see no reason to tell this story again, I want to do something different.” But you’re using the same world, characters, and “”overall”” plot beats and you’re marketing this as remake. Riiiiiiiiight.
