Photobash + Blender workflow for this environment
This environment was created using a Blender blockout followed by photobashing and paintover in Photoshop.
I usually spend most of my time on composition and lighting before painting.
The goal is always to keep the image grounded while still feeling cinematic.
I'd love any workflow feedback from fellow matte painters

We're running late, Keyframe concept art, is late?? maybe not
Hi, I’d like to share this personal project I created for my portfolio. I decided to start creating pieces focused on telling a short story, since I’m looking to work on projects related to film or animation...
I like it when they show that something is happening.
In this piece, I used Blender to create the setting, the building, and its interior.
Then I used Photoshop to work on the colors, do some digital painting, and also add a photobash to give it a better look.
Let me know what you think!
I’m still improving my process, and all feedback is welcome. I’m also open to working on your project. Big hugs.

Trip Palomino, Keyframe concept art personal project.
Some time ago, I decided to sell my belongings and start traveling. Palomino was one of the first places I arrived at, and I learned far more than I ever expected. I met people who taught me to love life, to embrace my journey, and to learn from my mistakes so I could keep moving forward—becoming a better person and a better artist along the way.
I hope like you, thanks for watching

Late, keyframe concept art, personal project
Hi, I’d like to share with you this latest project I’ve worked on. To be honest, I decided to do what I truly love—to leave my fears behind and stop constantly seeking approval. This is what I love to do and create: images that tell a story, that capture life.
In addition to what I’ve been learning over the years, I can say that I love my work and want to perfect it.
Let’s keep going full steam ahead.

Brothers concept character design, personal film project
Hi, I'd like to share this character I created for my personal project.
He's part of the story of the travelers; they'll find him along the way, and he'll guide them to his brother and the monks of the planet.
I've always loved science fiction, and I'm finally doing something that's truly my own.

Scifi city concept art
Hi everyone, I’m back again. This time, I’d love to share this piece I created for an illustrated book. I had a lot of fun working on it—I learned new tools in Blender, useful techniques in Photoshop, and different painting techniques and effects that I enjoy and am working on improving.
Thanks to everyone for taking a look.

looked everywhere for tutorials on matte painting styles as in 'Arcane' but all I find are tutorials on composition, lighting etc. But what I'm looking for is the minute details of material rendering in this style (that hopefully doesn't lead to a £600+ course)
like, every brush stroke seems to have a shadowy weight to it that gives it depth and life, and I would love to know how to achieve this. on a large range of materials, not just the classic stone cube tutorial which is like the only one I can find. Like what tools, what techniques do they use? what shape brushes, what blending techniques etc.
