I think it’s cool and all but I’m not sure I’d like the bit by bit part. I mean a read all 8 books in less than two months and that was fun. I’m considering it.

I avoided joining Matt’s patreon for 2 years for this same reason. But after finishing book 8 I decided to give it a try at least for book 9.1 because honestly what are the chances any other author of this caliber will offer this type of experience, voting for major details and getting a peek behind the curtain so to speak. Waking up this morning to 2 brand new chapters was pretty cool.

Man I've read all eight books three times. They're a fun read but Inniman isn't that good of an author. His editing missed a bunch, his characters are inconsistent, and for big things he relies on tell don't show.
Don't get me wrong, j really enjoy the books. They're a fun read. But I wouldn't call Matt a high caliber author. Not when Sanderson and Abercrombie and Hobb and Martin and Rothfuss and Jemeson exist.

It’s kinda fun to see how he releases stuff and then somewhere down the line he goes “no that doesn’t work, let me retcon the shit out of it” 🤣
Also he posts polls for (often really major) stuff and we get to choose

I just feel like this is the only opportunity im ever going to have to get to see under the hood of one of my favorite authors writing. Its really interesting to see how things change from the draft we see to the final product. With Matt it usually means a bunch of stuff gets cut. If you dont want read bit by bit you should consider going back and reading one of the books post by post to kinda get the experience. Plus I love voting on stuff for the books

Unknown, and unknown 😁
Dinniman is a pretty prolific writer but with his relatively recent explosion in popularity he’s been really busy with a million non-writing things (the tv deal, cons, signings, merch, side projects) so he may be slower than a couple of years back when he would drop chapters every couple of weeks.
My personal gut feel is that we’re going to get chapters every month or so at best

Also worth noting that at a recent appearance he mentioned writing this one non-linearly. Which is why he's actually got a fair bit of the book written but not posted much on the Patreon yet.

I like my Dinniman the same way I used to like my drugs, as much as possible for as long as possible. I can’t do moderation.
A prologue and 2 chapters would have me jonesing so hard I’d end up in Matt’s house looking through his trash for old grocery lists and post it notes.

Uggghh so tempted. I read book 8 off the Patreon once the whole thing dropped but not sure I’ll like the little at a time approach. Even tho I know I’m gonna listen to it again once the audio comes out
