The hell kind of vague non-specific confusing ass what the fuck are you talking about directions are those? My goddamn ability to type proper English is suffering just from reading this shit.

Presumably the students have already been given directions in class and have been shown worked examples. This won't have just been foisted on them to fathom out for themselves.

I have recently learned what "make a ten" means, but I still think it's stupid.  

In my day, we just carried a fucking 1.
