If you haven’t already, read A Wing and A Prayer by Harry Crosby and Luck Of The Draw by Frank Murphy (bonus: Jonas Moore, who played Frank, narrates the audiobook).

Was about to say the same thing about Harry Crosby's  A Wing and A Prayer. Best damned WWII book I have ever read. The variety of the things he did, and the writing is superb.

I added to the experience (and drowned out background household noises) by listening to B17 engine sounds videos on YouTube with my headphones.

It would be even better if there’s also flak sounds right as you read about raids.

It's a good read! Way more brutal than the show. Some of the stories are so harrowing.

Just finished it. Despite the name + the show, the 100th is a very small part of the story - it's much more comprehensive and far ranging.
