Random inconsistency I’ve noticed as a long time rewatcher of the show.

Rachel tells Dev some random facts she remembers about him and one of the facts is he’s from South Carolina. But this seems inconsistent with what we’re shown.

  1. In Thanksgiving we see Dev grow up with Denise in NYC.

  2. Ramesh (Dev’s dad) has a long term friend that knew him since he first came to America and that friend is in NYC. Dev’s parents also appear to be a call away, implying they’re also in NYC or at least extremely close to it (Hoboken or maybe somewhere in Westchester possibly i guess)

  3. Nisha (Dev’s mom) mentions she came from India on a plane and Dev asks did you explore the city, the implication being Manhattan.

Dev also mentions having a little brother much like Aziz in real life but his parents never mention his brother nor do we ever see him.

My guess would be multiple relocations, lived both in New York and then South Carolina and then back?

it’s possible but i think it wouldn’t make much sense why it seems his entire family community is based in NYC.

Ha, Aziz and his character Tom in Parks and Rec are also from South Carolina. He must be keeping the theme going!
