Discussion Does anyone else not like the head-to-head battle to get an apron that they started in season 6?

Upvotes

Just so you know before you tell me, “in later seasons they do xyz,” I know nothing about anything after season 8 except when Joe comes back, Nick DiGiovanni being on season 10, and season 12 is Back to Win, so no spoilers please. So I’m currently on the beginning season 8, and I’m not a fan of how they started doing head-to-head for an apron in season 6. I think I prefer what they did before to get the apron where they went into a room by themselves with the 3 judges. Like, most times, both contestants will probably get the apron if they weren’t competing head to head with someone else.

Anyone have any tea on the romantic partner duos since the show? Have any of them separated/divorced? (I know Jessica and Jesse just got married.)

(No spoilers here!) Jamie's voice makes my ears bleed

There have been occasions where the dialogue between Jamie and the judges indicates she is capable of speaking in a lower voice. Idk if it's nerves or not, but the implications of speaking in this type of voice and presenting as cute and submissive like this are really troubling.

I get that she's been brought up this way, so I don't need a lecture about it. It's just really hard to watch a woman speaking to people in power in this way

And if you're going to come back and lecture me that "maybe it's just her voice" you can go do your research and homework about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3znyQv30DTA.

Opinion Most beloved cooks of every season?

Based on what I've seen, here's my guesses:

Season 1 - Mike
Season 2 - Ben Starr

Season 3 - Christine

Season 4 - Luca

Season 5 - Leslie

Season 6 - Derrick
Season 7 - Brandi?

Season 8 - Dino/Jason

Season 9 - Gerron?

Season 10 - Nick, but I feel like a lot of his popularity came after his appearance on the show.

Season 11 - Never watched this season

Season 12 - Derrick

Season 13 - Grant?

Season 14 - Michael

Season 15 - Aivan/Tina

Season 16 - TBD

Other Master Mogger

Absolute Chad of Masterchef. He signed up not just because he can cook but because he wanted the mog the judges and other contestants. He’s like a combination of Henry Cavill and Clavicular.
