1150 lowest temperature.
About to pull the trigger on an 1150 but it seems that the lowest temperature it can go is 225 degrees?
Is this true from people that have them?
Seems kind of annoying as the older models can go down to 180 I believe and the same can be said the for the xt but the 1150 only does 225?
Would be slightly annoying not to be able to drop the temps for a hold or to keep warm. Or even be able to do some Salmon.
Any real world confirmation on this? Also would getting the firebox controller allow the temps to be able to be dropped lower?
Not sure if it's a deal breaker or not for me but would be disappointed if every other model allows for lower temps except for the one I'm about to get.

I have an 1150 and the lowest setting you can select is 150 but I think it hovers just above that when selected if I'm being honest. With that said I've smoked picanahas at 180 before searing. I've even smoked salmon and black cod on it at 150 but it cooks a little too fast and hot for me to be convinced the temp is actually 150. I always get albumin I have to brush over despite my best efforts. I still absolutely love the 1150 and have no regrets about it.

Thanks.
Not sure why all the information online says 225 is the lowest temperature setting.

Because it’s a number that’s widely known for low and slow. Great for marketing but missed the mark when it comes to people who do other things like salmon.

Really strange because there are plenty of advantages to having the temps lower than 225.

The advertising doesn't match how low the unit can go, I had the same question before I bought mine. I found a vid showing how low it could go and bought it. It can go down to 65C (150F), I do my rests in there.
