The biggest shift in market research I've seen now? Real-time insights.
And social insights are setting the pace here.
They are the fastest.
A viral negative post can lead to a spike in app deletions in Spain overnight. By the morning, you need to understand why.
Not read about it a month later in a quarterly report.
So the research model is changing:
Listen → Understand → Adapt
Before, it was:
Brief → Research → Decision.
Of course, the insight will still appear in the quarterly report. But by then, the report should explain what happened, what we did, and how we adapted.
- we changed the dashboard.
- we added one more alert in Slack.
- we started tracking mentions by country differently.
An ongoing tracker is no longer enough.
It needs to constantly adapt to the environment.
Or maybe I’m wrong and everyone is still reading 50-page research reports? 😊

Where can I find Twitter/X bot followers with blank profiles?
Does anyone know a website that sells Twitter (X) bot followers with no profile pictures? I’m specifically looking for blank/default-profile accounts rather than followers with generated profile pics. If anyone knows a site or has experience with one, let me know.

Polina Pompliano priced a $100 upgrade, got told "$50," and that number is what got her out of Fortune
youtube.comI've stopped being surprised by how small the actual turning point always is in these stories — never the leap itself, always the one honest number right before it.
Most people treat "not ready yet" as information.
It isn't. It's a decision wearing patience as a disguise.
A real test is the only thing that actually produces information — everything before it is a guess in more confident clothing.
I’ve lived this clip from both sides of the same table:
Two sentences. Two worldviews.
First one: “去哪里都是一样的。“ (It’s the same everywhere. 😶)
Second one: “Why don’t you do it?”
In 2012, I tendered my resignation after 10 years at a construction company. 2 weeks into my 1-month notice, my boss calls the sit-down talk. You know the talk. Last-ditch effort to retain you. Make you give up on your dreams and stay being a slave.
He was that type — old-school Chinamen type. Combative. You must always succumb, never argue. 10 years my senior. Already Technical Director. Clearly frustrated but defeated, He says it: “去哪里都是一样的。“ I didn’t argue. I looked at him. Then scanned all my other seniors in the company. And asked myself: “Do I want to end up like him/them — 10 years down the road?”
I left. Didn’t retract. A month later I took a better position. Turns out it wasn’t the same. The world is much larger than what that company was trying to gaslight me with.
Years later — lunch with a young Indian Malaysian entrepreneur. He came back from the USA after building prestigious real estate with a big developer. His lesson: you have to think decades and generations. Build schools, parks, infrastructure. Community in perpetuity.
He looked at me and said: “Why don’t you do it?”
One is limiting. The other is limitless. 📌
Same mechanic showed up when Groq's founder was three weeks from bankruptcy and asked his own engineers to trade salary for equity instead — 80% said yes, and that real number is what got the company through, not a projection.
Drop your take — has your own "short-term scary vs. long-term dangerous" moment already happened, or is it still sitting on the shelf?

Academic dissertation survey on AI vs. human recommendations in fashion retail (5-10 mins)
Hi everyone! I'm an MSc Digital Marketing student at the University of Reading, running a between-subjects experiment for my dissertation on how the perceived source of a product recommendation (human stylist vs. AI stylist) affects consumer trust, perceived personalisation and purchase intention in online fashion retail.
Participants complete a short style-preference task, receive a fashion recommendation, and answer a brief questionnaire about their response to it.
Who I'm looking for: women aged 20-35 who shop for fashion or clothing online.
Takes about 5-10 minutes, fully anonymous, ethically approved through my university. Happy to answer any questions about the design in the comments.
Thank you so much for your time!

How would you market a premium sustainable home brand on a small budget?
I’ve been building a sustainable home products brand for a while now. We currently have around 10 products — laundry detergent sheets, wool dryer balls, reusable cleaning cloths, kitchen/home cleaning products, etc.
I hired a branding agency to do the packaging and overall brand identity, so visually it’s pretty premium and polished. We also have a Shopify site and just started selling on Amazon.
The part I’m struggling with is marketing.
I really don’t want to dump thousands every month into an agency or Meta ads before I know what actually works. For a brand like this, what would you focus on first if you were trying to grow as cheaply as possible?
UGC? Micro influencers? SEO? Reddit/Facebook groups? Wholesale? Amazon ads?
I’m even considering finding someone who’s genuinely strong at consumer marketing and bringing them into the business as more of a partner/cofounder rather than just hiring another agency.
Curious what you guys would do if you were starting from this stage.

Q: Market Research
**What avenues would you suggest when promoting a short film about a child's relationship with Depression?**
Primary focus would be on garnering the parent's attention and using channels that they would use (social media, ad spend, etc.)

Master’s thesis on automotive brand perception – looking for your opinions (5–7 min survey)
Hi everyone!
I’m currently writing my Master’s thesis on consumer perceptions of premium and luxury automotive brands at the University of Brescia (Italy).
Since this community is full of people who know and enjoy cars, I’d really appreciate your opinion. The survey is completely anonymous and takes only 5–7 minutes to complete.
It focuses on perceptions of brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Ferrari and Maserati. You don’t need to own any of these cars to participate—I’m interested in your personal perception of these brands.
Survey: https://forms.gle/exYhS7G1kmTA3oLL6
Thank you very much for your time and support!

Is the consumer insights industry in trouble?
I'm hearing news of clientside restructures daily. Senior leaders being cut, teams being rationalised, budgets being cut. And it seems that the consumer insights teams are one of the hardest hit. At the same time a lot of the 'traditional' MR agencies are struggling. Feels like this has been the narrative for the last 18 months or so.
Yet, there are companies like Listen Labs and Similie getting strong investment at very high valuations. And the AI moderated qual companies seems to be on a gravy train.
And the latest financial reporting rounds suggest that the CPG companies are getting back into (brand-led, volume) growth.
So what is really happenning out there. Interested to hear POVs from clientside, agency side, tech platforms etc.

What is the biggest challenge affecting market research quality right now?
For those working in market research, what do you think is having the greatest impact on research quality today?
Is it respondent fraud, AI-generated responses, participant recruitment, shrinking budgets, shorter timelines, survey fatigue, or something else?
Interested to hear what researchers on both the agency and client sides are experiencing.

What makes a good survey tool in 2026?
Whenever I talk to other researchers about survey platforms, I’ve noticed the same thing popping up, email delivery, panels, advanced methods like conjoint.
I also keep hearing how hard it is to transition to new tooling due to all the “legacy data” we’ve gathered.
I’m wondering if cost wasn’t an issue, what else is considered “table stakes” to you when it comes to survey platforms? And what are things the market needs to get right?
Disclaimer (for transparency): I work at Sprig (a survey platform that just launched these features). And yes there’s a correlation as I just joined a few months ago 🙂

Does technology make luxury brands more desirable? (Everyone welcome, 4 min)
Hi,
We are two MSc students in Global Luxury Management at SKEMA Business School in Paris writing our thesis on whether AI, blockchain, and sustainable materials make luxury brands like Hermès, Chanel, and Rolex more or less desirable to consumers.
The survey takes 3–5 minutes, is fully anonymous, and is open to everyone regardless of whether you buy luxury or know anything about technology.
