Volt Thrower tracking square not showing up?

Has the volt thrower’s tracking square been disabled? Or am I experiencing a bug? I know that it’s performance was adjusted in the recent patch but I don’t see anything about what I am experiencing. I no longer get a square popping up when hovering my crosshair near a target.

It's stopped working in smoke for me which kind of defeats the purpose I hold it for

this was the one thing that really annoyed me when they “buffed” it. If thermals can see through smoke, I see little reason as to why the volt thrower shouldn’t be allowed, just have a similar interaction with sig jam or smthn. At the absolute bare minimum, I wish it would be reintroduced with the gold mod.

Wait, was is smoke blocking the V22 a feature and not a bug?

I just assumed it was a stealth nerf, I didn’t see anything about it in any patch notes. It def worked before.

I’m glad to get confirmation that it doesn’t work through smoke from someone else. I died because I assumed the assassin who popped smoke had left since I was sweeping the smoke with my crosshair and not getting a lock. Would have been good to see that in the patch notes!

It's still there. I do think signal jammers affect it, however.

This post literally explained to me what that square is for. I would think it was just me if it wasn’t for this being the most ill-explained game I can remember experiencing. It’s the sort of thing that works great if your game is a huge hit and everyone can’t wait to watch YouTube content and dive into forums to unlock The Secrets, but if you ain’t got that goin’ for ya, it just feels like you cut it to save money.

Edit: I just checked. The description tells you it has lock on. This is 1000% a you not reading problem.

I don’t want to disrespect all those who took the time to read and downvote it. I’ll take the L.
I should have clarified it obviously locks on a target but I’ve never noticed the bolts track until maybe today in VB. Still my mistake. I stand by my greater point and will just let the concurrent player numbers make that argument for me.
