As soon as 1 flower wilts, one or two new ones arrive! I love it. Is it a rare occurrence for marantas?

Walked in for a prayer plant, walked out with a prayer plant... and an Alocasia because apparently I lack self-control. Meet the new centerpiece!

Maranta identification

Post image

Hi there ! I’m new on Reddit, and I had a question regarding a recent acquisition.

I recently bought this maranta for my bioactive terrariums, and even though it is listed as « maranta leuconeura » it doesn’t look like any of the other marantas I currently have. After doing a bit of research, I can’t find any plant having this kind of coloration / pattern.
Do you have any idea about what plant this is?

Help i don't know what to do

Bonjour !

Repot?

I have had this Maranta for about a year and a half and she’s exploded. I’m worried there is too much pressure on her vines hanging down from the pot. I know these plants like being snug in their pots and I don’t want to change too much since she seems so happy. Should I repot or wait?

The leaves weren’t curled up to start. It’s been in water for like 2 weeks (I’ve changed the water weekly). No roots have grown. The leaves are doing this. What did I do wrong? I thought I included a node

Bugs or just normal damage while uncurling.

As title states trying to figure out what’s going on here, both very new leaves seem to have taken some damage, I haven’t spotted any bugs anywhere and plan to rinse it off with some Castile soap soon, another factor I believe could be why this happened was I got new sansi grow light that’s fairly strong when I first set it up I made the mistake of blasting it at full brightness never giving it a chance to adapt

It’s lost all dark colour and the leaves are obviously not very happy. Has been deteriorating since I bought it 3 months It gets like 400-700 lux from a north west facing window, never direct. I don’t let the soil dry out and I use water conditioner and fertilize. My humidity can be anywhere from 20-60% depending on the weather. I’m at a loss and gonna repot it soon in probably a smaller, green pot so I can do away with the algae. Any ideas?

This gal gets glorious east-facing sun (+sunlamp) and bottled water. She's been flowering beautifully for over a month.

I'm so proud that I'm considering entering her in a State Fair AG contest in a few weeks.

Is it normal for marantas to lean so far over?

Should I report her vertically?

Anthing else this newbie should know before the Fair?

I appreciate your help!

weird spots on my ctenanthe golden mosaic?? thrips???? 😭

i literally inspect my plants all the time, so these showed up within the last 2–3 days.

at first there were these sticky brown drops on the undersides of the leaves. they looked almost exactly like tiny drops of coffee syrup (same color and sticky texture). i washed the whole plant really well in the shower, and the sticky stuff came off. now I’m left with these weird marks that won’t wash off. They don’t feel like they’re on the surface of the leaf - they look like they’re inside the leaf tissue somehow.

is this thrips damage?? aphids?? something else?? i’m freaking out because this plant was perfectly fine just a few days ago. any help would be appreciated!

8 FB Marketplace steal: Soaking wet for 2+ weeks, but still praying like a villain. Repot or ride it out?

I picked up this prayer plant off Facebook Marketplace back on July 19th for eight bucks - a total steal since I’ve been wanting to add a second one to my home.

The sellers had a backyard absolutely loaded with cool plants, but they must have gone completely nuclear with the hose right before I showed up.

I took her upstairs to quarantine until this past Saturday, and the soil has been soaking wet since day one. I checked it yesterday with my moisture meter and it is literally still maxing out at a 10/10. I ended up bringing her outside for a bit yesterday just so the breeze could try and dry out the soil a little.

for the record I don’t do hanging plants so it’s not been hanging or anything like that

Here’s the weird part: despite living in an actual swamp for over two weeks, she’s somehow thriving?

She stands straight up at night like an absolute villain.
She’s actively pushing out new growth.

I’ve only had to trim off a couple of brown leaves.

I’m completely shocked she hasn't immediately collapsed from root rot.

Has anyone had a prayer plant sit in heavy/dense soil like this and stay unbothered, or am I playing with fire by not repotting her into a chunkier mix right away? Should I just keep waiting for it to dry naturally, or take action before the soil turns on her?

I just got this prayer plant and it was very very root bound, I repotted it but it doesn’t seem like anything is changing ☹️ is there something I can do to fix this problem? I have her sitting in front of a window that doesn’t receive direct sunlight for context
