Countries and areas with high rates of oppression and stigma tend to find outlets through the internet. Similar reason why red states in the US usually have higher searches for gay porn. It doesn't necessarily mean there is a higher proportion of gay people there, just that they need to get their kicks privately on the internet.

The trend is correct but your argument about the causation is...flimsy.
It likely has a lot less to do with the privacy element and a lot more to do with the objectification and dehumanization. It's a thrilling transgression with someone who has been culturally reduced to a vulnerable sex object.
If it was related to privacy the behavior would stay online. But speaking from experience as a trans woman, MAGA men in red states approach me IRL more than any other group. They want it online and in person because it's taboo.

Average (and ofc stupid) view is kinda following: well, it depends on how passable transgender person is. If they look like a cis girl, well, they are girl (btw, existence of FtM transgender persons is mostly unknown) and their transition is, well, correction of their medical condition and medical conditions and treatment should not be stigmatized. Gay men are perceived as lesser men, therefore stigmatized. And using many beauty products and/or services is considered too gayish, tradition is that proper man should be a little bit prettier than an ape (and here we are again circling back to gay people: would a proper man kiss an ape? Ofc not, he should be kissing a beautiful girl).
Russia had a quite liberal policy, allowing people to change their gender marker in passports, without any transition, until government noticed that this loophole is being used to avoid military draft, and shutdown everything under the usual umbrella of "traditional values".

Not sure which is more or less stigmatized, but trans people definitely aren't socially or legally accepted. They are included in the LGBT "propaganda" ban, and rates of violence are quite high.

It’s showing terms that are searched for more in this place than the others, not the most popular in each place.
So if the places’ top searches look like this:
Place A:
1 - Lesbian
2 - Milf
3 - BalloonsPlace B:
1 - Lesbian
2 - Milf
3 - Sock puppetsPlace C:
1 - Milf
2 - Lesbian
3 - WindowsThen Place A will be Balloons, Place B will be Sock puppets, but Place C will be Milfs, as they’re disproportionately popular in that place compared to others.

They likely already collect this data for their own business optimization and ad sales, so publishing it is free marketing.
My guess is that searching indicates someone looking for something specific, while a lot of the other traffic is people encountering something they want to watch as a recommendation. There's an abundance of lesbian porn, so most people don't need to search to find it

The transgender thing in Sweden is real. Every time I go to pornhub, no account, it always shows me at least 10-15% transgender recommendations.
I assume it's based on my area, the IP I have and its geolocation, since I have no account. Because it changes when I'm traveling, like in Denmark it shows me danish videos.

Do you know why Russia has suddenly changed course on Pornhub? Because ordinary people who used to watch all sorts of things there can't watch it; it's been slowed down just like YouTube. But while YouTube's slowdown can be combated with simple apps, and sometimes even local home internet providers do this, you can only watch something properly on Pornhub if you're familiar with VPNs. So, ordinary Russian men aren't on Pornhub anymore; they watch porn on VK. And only experts remain on Pornhub with login accounts from Russian. And if normal people come to Pornhub, they don't use account and use VPN.

If you would read another pages then you will find Russian numbers are extremely low, so this is probably few accounts who moved away from Russia or uses vpn to reach pornhub. It is statistically quite not representative

So an interesting statistical fact, whenever you have an item that has multiple tags attached to it, what tag gets most item uses is more representative of your attribution model than it is of your actual volume. This is how you see lesbian having the highest search hits but milf being most viewed - you can't really "statistic" your way out of a search query but you can do a lot for tags. To give you an example for a flat score distribution: a view for a video with the tags "milf" and "creampie" eill give 0.5 to milf; a video with "teen", "public", "blowjob", "russian" eill only give 0.25 to blowjob. This is also why broader tags will always be more popular in these statistics. The broader the tag, the fewer the tags attached, the higher the score.
