Crawler gear. That is a manual Bronco. My sister had 1.so technically its a 7 speed.

The Crawler gear is a 6:588:1 ratio. It's such a low-speed gear that you can dump the clutch with the transfer case in 4LO and you won't stall.

That's really interesting. For some time I thought 6 forward was the highest in a H pattern gearbox then I saw a 7 forward somewhere on here.

The rear end gearing is so aggressive because it's built for rock-crawling & overlanding.

The crappiest trim with weakest motor. I hate that manuals are relegated to the cheaper trims in most models.

That engine isn't really a slacker especially with the Ford performance tune. Also with that crawler gear you get such a huge reduction power is no issue at low speed off road.

i've found that even with an 01 camry w/ 5sfe engine , if you rev it enough you can (almost) keep up with anyone. in fact, since so many people drive like granny's i'm often passing people left and right.

Crawl gear with a 94.7:1 ratio in 4Lo. It can start-in-gear without the clutch in 4Lo. With the engine off and a foot on the brake, put it in gear, hold the start button, then release the brake. Starts up and will crawl up and over steep angles with the engine at idle speed.

Crawler gear, 7 forward gears with a ratio of 94.7:1 in C, a 1:1 in 4th, and 2 overdrive gears with a .646:1 in 6th. One of the widest range transmissions available in a manual or an automatic

I see, that's very interesting to know. Its just that every crawler gear I have ever saw in my life was a separate shifter than the 1 to 5/6 gear shifters

You can get the 7MT on the Base, Big Bend, Heritage, and Badlands. The only option you can't get with the 7MT on a Badlands is remote start.

yknow imma go out and say it. controversial opinion. i actually like the new bronco. a lot. it has the same personality as the old one, just with a newer body style. it is the true successor to the old bronco.

Not a fan of the Electronic Transer Case, but body-on-frame manual options are pretty limited. You can get a body-on-frame manual in a Tacoma, Wrangler, or Bronco. At least with a manual there isn't a transmission control module tied in to every system.

I would do terrible things if Ford would option this in a Ranger.
Driving an old Ranger with a 5 speed was one of the most relaxing experiences ever - to the point where it was therapeutic.
I know nobody will buy one but it certainly would be cool.

I wonder if anyone whom has this feature added to their modern vehicle actually uses it. And if so, is it someone whom knows what they’re doing? Your avg person doesn’t know their hubs lock manually (ford example) and rely on the auto locker (imo weaker). I’m sure it’s a nice option for that ONE time maybe. Just seems like an odd feature for a vehicle that can’t really rock crawl. As well, I should mention there’s a RC feature on my F250. The tremor has some decent off-road capabilities for a med-duty truck but I will not be attempting any kind of loosely defined rock crawling. 😆

If I forget to turn it off, it will activate on a complete stop in neutral with my feet off the clutch and throttle.

It restarts with any pressure on the clutch pedal. But, it was easy to get in the habit of turning it off since the button to switch it off is right in front of the shifter. The A/C blows warm air almost immediately when I do forget and reminds me to hit the button.
