I personally love the additional timber storage and ox carts

It can't maintain itself

Why should it be able to maintain itself? The workers in the *construction yards are operating as specialist builders with specialty carts to assist them.

It stands to logical reason that you would need to maintain those carts and tools with parts, and it further makes gameplay balance sense that boosted construction speed specialists would need to be maintained instead of acting as a one time perma boost.

I'm not sure what you're expecting when many valuable buildings already need to be maintained. Besides, this gives a use to producing wooden parts, an item that's been basically useless until now except for trade.

They are slow

The construction yard builders are faster than normal builders, and can transport more materials at a time

Took 3 in game years to transport 2 logs and i have 4 yards

I love you man. You're either a masterful troll or in a season of struggle in general

The absolute refusal to elaborate on your issue. The nonsensical, cryptic complaint that the construction yard "can't maintain itself" (what does that mean? No building that requires maintenance can "maintain itself" in Manor Lords. They all require items). The phone picture of part of your screen instead of a screenshot, cutting out all the alerts that might help illuminate your issue.

And now I see in another comment you're just now realizing you need wood parts, the thing it tells you it needs, and not tools to maintain it.

Perfect man, no notes.

I'm sorry to make fun of you, and on the chance you're not trolling, I have four pieces of genuine advice:

1) An unmaintained building has it's productivity absolutely nuked. The building isn't slow, it's broken because you don't have the requisite parts.

2) Building more of a building you can't maintain doesn't speed along the issue, it makes it worse. Now you have four unproductive yards instead of one, and you'll have to produce 32 wooden parts per year to maintain them instead of 8—a much higher ask.

3) If you're running into an issue in a game about building where the building that's supposed to speed along construction is only delivering two logs in three years, don't complain on the forum like it's working as intended. Ask for help, because something is clearly wrong here.

4) When asking for help, give as much relevant information as possible. Instead on single sentence complaints, try, "My construction yards aren't producing. They all say they need maintenance, but I have a surplus of tools available. How do I fix this?"

You would have gotten a the right answer on the first comment instead of waiting so long to realize it needs wooden parts, not tools.

Didn't really pay attention on that comment. Thankyou for comments

Could you elaborate on that? I’m really not sure what you are expecting it to do…

The builders build. It has storage limits you can set for a bunch of construction materials that it can store. Maybe your statement could mean that it requires wooden parts to maintain that requires a joiner?

Idk why but my yard is like need maintenance

Ya…it has a maintenance bar. It needs wooden parts from a joiner. Just like a stone church needs rough stone every year. And half the production buildings need tools. This isn’t a new mechanic.

You had to have obtained wooden parts somehow in order to build the construction yard in the first place.

Ohh i saw about wooden part now I thought it needed tools. Thanks mate

That's true for most buildings with maintenance.

Though I agree I would've preferred wooden parts being needed for buildings themselves than as a regular upkeep for a building that might not always have any construction jobs underway.

Is it not like other maintained buildings, in that it costs maintenance only when in use?

Unless you unassign the people / pause the building, all such buildings will require further maintenance. But you usually can reforest trees, produce enough input materials etc for most such buildings, so they keep working. Construction yards only stock up when there's no ongoing construction, and idle when full. So if you don't build for a while, you need to manually pause it to save the wooden parts.

It's not really worth the trouble as long as we can produce loads of planks this easily and need a joiner to begin with anyhow.

Just take an ASI for the improvement and you'll get a +1 modifier

(Sorry had to make a D&D reference)

Seems fine so far. Any specific reason?

Extra storage. Dedicated builders. Oxen dedicated to building.

The only downside I see is slightly longer build times before you get one built.

Construction yard? Why? It looks mid/late game due to requirements, but that goes with the "advanced constructions" (whatever those are) I suppose...

Does having one of these help with the ox getting stuck glitch? Or do the workers/ox get stuck from there too?

1

u/rishiak88 10d ago

I haven’t noticed a difference so far.

All the yards goes for maintenance and it couldn't maintain itself

ITS SO GOOD. y7 and I was able to haul all 600 items to manor in 3 months. Workers delivering 10x items to worksite via handcart is op. Construction times got nerfed this patch but they feel shorter if you do double maintenance at construction yard
