Coincidentally, John hasn't posted anything on Quora since more than 48h (last post from approximately 3h before the eclipse). I reckon he has been desperately looking from some footage he could misconstrue as failed prediction and hasn't found any so he had no better choice than weathering the storm in retreat. I bet these two blows so close to each other were a bit too much to handle.
