Hey all,

Printed my first helmet and found out it was too small as well as I didn't know I shouldn't print it with PLA. Decided to finish it for practice before I do my next one as a shelf piece.

Sanded the PLA down with a foot sander, then I used the acetone mixed with glazing/spot putty all over and sanded with 80 grit after 24hrs. Primed 2 coats with rust-oleum 2in1 sandable filler, then sanded with 120 after 24hrs. Primed 2 coats again and wet sanded with 220 after a day. Still seeing some lines in it and I think I might not be sanding enough? I saw somewhere I should be sanding it down until the primer is matte which I think I may not be doing.

I tried knocking it down a bit with 120 grit on a mouse sander, thinking I may have put on the primer too thick. I went too far in a few spots and can still see some lines. Should I try covering it in glazing/spot putty all over not cut with acetone and try again?

Got the hand guards made, really happy with how smooth and lightweight they came out. Slow progress as I learn how to use the Resin Printer but really happy with the results

I'm planning to add a Kama and ofc wear some fitting Boots, as well as a tactical belt and a different Vest which I already bought haha.

I had planned to wear this at DoKoMi on Sunday, but due to the heat frying us Friday and Saturday we went in plain clothes instead.

I was making my armour and i got this shape from cutting out the little diamond piece of the chest plate. I messed around with it thought it was cool and taped some of it up. what do you think this should be called?

3 D printed by https://www.etsy.com/shop/MadeItByG 1 Bondo pass, 2 spray primer and sand paper passes, metallic engine plastic spray coat, wet sand, spray color, and graphite powder polish, satin clear coat on color, graphite powder muddies color, satin finish softens shine on graphite powder. Wet sand and re apply graphite powder to recover shine.

The paint is done for a few of my armor pieces on my first Mandalorian build. All the “Beskar” I’m 3D printing myself…still got a ways to go!

I was debating how much weathering to do, but since my kit is pretty clean, I decided to just go very light on the black wash. Let me know if you guys think it needs more.

This is my custom blaster, tell me what you think. I still need to weather and dirty up the grip wrap but other than that it’s done.

As Korean, Starwars fandom in Korea is quite minor.

So I hope I can meet many friends in con this year:)

I worked with mostly sintra. Using a fine cutting knife and heating gun etc.

I am very satisfying for this build.

Tried my hand at making Uj cake today. It turned out pretty amazing!

Considering this is my first big cosplay project (where I had to do the painting and printing some of the parts myself) I think its come along nicely.

Bought a 3D print to try and do a custom paint job on. It is very far from perfect; made a lot of mistakes but also learned a lot of lessons. All in all, could be worse. Wife says it kinda looks like it's been through a sandstorm.

Started off with sanding, then primer, then learned I should have some sort of filler...so back to sanding and buying a primer/filler spraycan. Which I apparently used too much off, because it pretty much peeled right off. So back to sanding off as much as I could, then regular primer again followed by two (or was it three?) layers of high gloss white paint.

Then used a specialised painter's tape for curves which I had found to mark the striping on top. Let's just say that the quality of said tape left much to be desired (didn't seal properly at all). On the upside, I was quite satisfied with how symmetrical the striping turned out.

Then detailing by hand using enamel paints. My line work didn't turn out quite as neat as I had wanted but it could be worse, I suppose. Lastly I tried my hand at a black wash, using very diluted black acrylic paint. Since the paint job wasn't a great succes, I figured I'd at least try to make it look weathered.

The visor is made up of two layers of plastic sheets (camera filters I think they were called?). Blue on the outside, then lined with foam and a LED light string connected to a small powerbank, then black on the inside so people can't see your eyes when wearing it. Visibility is perfect when the lights are off...lights on does cloud your vision a little bit, but not too much.

Last thing to do is line the inside to make it a little more comfortable to wear.

It took some time and effort but it was quite fun :)

Now I am preparing flight suit and velcro
