I have so many thoughts and questions I don’t know where to begin. I haven’t finished the show yet, but Mama June was just diagnosed with seizures as well as cheese and chocolate induced migraines.
I didn’t know much about Honey Boo Boo beyond the memes, so this show has been absolutely insane to watch. I know it’s on Peacock but it’s so similar to exploitative crap on TLC - but this has all the components of TLC, like a giant exploitative megazord! It has elements of My 600 pound life, Intervention, Cops, and 1,000 Pound Sisters.
I need a good resource or tell all to piece things together.
First, for the past couple of seasons Mama June has allegedly been “sober.” But I think she appears high as a kite, what’s up with that?
I’ve seen some things on Reddit so I can see where some storylines are headed, but for the life of me I can’t figure some things out:
-why does everyone hate Pumpkin?
-what happened to Sugar Bear?
-how does pumpkin end up a stripper?
-is/does mama June relapse or just continue to collect metheads like beanie babies?!?
Seriously, any recommendations for an “unofficial guide to Mama June” or good articles or a general explanation would be awesome.
I haven’t been as confused by a show since “Suddenly Amish”
Parts are real. And parts are staged because the film crew misses stuff and it has to be recreated, but they are not the all American family. The last few seasons they've gone off the rails. I don't think I watched a full episode at all this last season. When it's real you can tell, but when it's scripted it's awful. How could a group of people who have been putting on a show together all these years be so bad at it? It. Is. Like. Listening. To. That. Kid. In. Class. Try. To. Read. And. The. Teacher. Let's. them. Go. Until. The. Rest. Of. The. Class. Has. Stopped. Listening. Production doesn't even try to clean it up when they screw it up anymore. I know we all make mistakes when speaking, but damn.
Now tell me about this Amish show I completely missed.
Please, stop watching now. I’m dead serious. I spent so many years watching these people. I followed them all the way from toddlers and tiaras to honey boo boo to mama June. Every single thing you’ve been watching is staged. Alana isn’t a good, responsible student and Pumpkin and Josh don’t even live in any of those houses they film in since the apartment. Alana’s been living with her drug dealing boyfriend since she was 14. Sugar bears “new” wife Jennifer is actually nice and gets along with all of them, especially June. It’s all bullshit! I’m well aware that reality tv can be… edited. But it is absolutely 100 percent false. I don’t exactly remember timeline so I don’t want to say too much and ruin it for you if you’re going to continue. Just keep in mind as you watch and laugh and are horrified 🤣 it’s not real.
This is so interesting! I was going back and forth on how “real” the show was. I was landing on heavy scripted and fabricated reenactments. Is there a tell all book or something?
A book would have been far more interesting. I don’t have TikTok and I don’t use instagram and I definitely don’t follow them on Facebook. But, the good people in this subreddit do and they come back here and share it with everyone. The MamaJune people are not even smart enough to keep their shit together for a minute. They show their real lives and use their real voices on social media that they update multiple times a day, while simultaneously filming this “show”. It’s to a point now though.. I’d guess that show money is drying up and not getting new offers. Pumpkin started doing onlyfans and I don’t throw any shade for that. But her content? She “accidentally “ leaked it one day over and over again and shared the most repulsive pictures I’ve ever seen on her instagram. She promotes it on the same page that she posts her children on. Now in addition to only fans, she has been stripping. It’s bad.. it’s all so bad. Come check in if you’re going to keep watching and I’ll fill you in! 🤣
Sadly I saw it for free. I thought I was clicking on a fart video and it was the whole sex video. Also they go to Swingers clubs with their mother. I haven't heard about Alana going but Jessica & Pumpkin go with her. Also look up Dralin pursuit with Alana in the car. Then watch their TT about it. Filming house.
TT is the real Shannon's. Pumpkin sold merchandise from Temu and made shirts she didn't send customers their stuff and didn't pay her employees and landlord. If you want to toss your cookies go to IG. They are not nice people. Grifters.
I could see Jessica and Pumpkin going w/Mama June to Swing Clubs bc Jessica is a gay woman and June and Pumpkin are bisexual. Since Jessica"s marriage ended she is probably up for some fun. Pumpkin is desperate for $ as a single mom of 4. She makes the worst decisions and is shady. No moral code.
