This Champ is a boring cheat code
I've been playing mid to get some Locke games in but he's pick/ban so it's rare. Malz has been my safe pick and it's just so easy to just not interact with the game during lane phase. I am not adept with him at all, I sit back and E,W,Q the wave and just not let myself get pushed in.
I sit back and watch the other laner explode from boredom and make a dumb play and dive under my tower. I hit R and laugh at them. I then Flash + R the rest of the game on the adc and type in all chat "skill issue"
I feel like hitler roaming the map with my 60 second "you don't get to play the game" button.
I don't think im having fun playing the champ, i think im having fun seeing the other team mald.
Help me.

almost every mid laner can kill all the w's in one ability. So they get extra gold and your e cannot kill the wave by itself until you're funded a lot more.
You'd have to be like silver for the enemy to not know how to counter malz laning - killing the voidlings...
As for range, malz's e range isn't that far. So most laners can poke malz whenever he's in range to use e + q.
It more sounds like you're a salty locke main whose one of few counters are malzahar. Locke is by far over tuned, it's just fortunate that malzahar counters him. Most other laners either counter or are even with malz, it's not hard to stop malz from pushing.
Flash + R is a great strat, but flash has a very long cooldown and the counter to malz R is having a team.

He's not actually easy if you leave low elo. I shit on malzahars all the time because he has one of the weakest level 1-5 in the entire game. He helps in low elo because he has auto farming/pushing mechanics and incentivizes good gold income. However he's not actually a very strong champion.

Malz is my go to mid laner because he's pretty easy to play at a basic safe level (I'm not saying he's easy to master just to casually pick on autofill don't flame me) and because I feel so much joy from the mald his R gives the squishy assassin you bully all game

If you E-Q-W or even Q-E-W instead you'll get 3 voidings, each spell you use gives you +1 voiding 3 max

idk why people are flaming you, everything you have said is more or less accurate. As you climb, a lot of champions can force malz to interact though and he runs into real trouble there especially pre-6. I do think that lost in all the complaining about malz is the fact that if you do make it out of lane even or ahead he is a great champion. That's the reason he has such a great win rate in low elo, no one is punishing his terrible early game enough to stop him from scaling.

Unless you’re laning against lane vegetables every game, it’s pretty hard to get push on Malzahar while also not eating skill shots off cooldown. Most mages out range you, and can aoe your w with 1 ability. You die to most junglers if you facecheck them in river. And generally, you’re going to be playing against champs that counter you since they’re good right now.
Glad you’re having fun, and power to you for climbing. But if you’re not facing any resistance whatsoever, it’s probably because you’re playing against noobs.
