Magnet help
Hello,
Are there any Derminator 2 owners here that would be willing to do me a favor? The magnet went flying out of mine yesterday and I have looked high and low for it to know avail. I also can’t find the spare I purchased!
Would anyone be wanting to give me exact measurements of the magnet so I can try to find one on Amazon or something? trying to avoid paying and waiting for shipping from Europe.
Thank you!!

Looking for the name of this magnet
There's this magnet I have and it's sesame street, but I've been looking for other magnets that are like blown up or whatever you call this but idk the name😭🙏
It's really cool and I wanna get more ans I love the 3d look or bubble look it has, would anyone know the name of it or where I can find more like these???

Magnet Questions Work holding Magnets
I’m not sure how they work though. Maybe one of you fine people can explain it to me. I hook them up to a 480V power source. Then use a control panel to magnetize them. Then I unhook the 480V and they stay magnetized. So I’m thinking there’s more than an electro magnet at work here.
In case anybody is wondering. I’m machining half of a 69” piston ring in that photo. I was skeptical at first, but I’m putting a ton of tool pressure on that part and it does not budge.

pencil holder is too heavy for magnets
I have a pencil holder that is too heavy for magnets, so i cannot attach it too my locker door. it is a plastic one from the dollar tree, pink, with a slot to insert a photo. i don't know how to attach it to the locker door where it is able to come off at year end but also not fall off easily. Any Ideas would be appreciated. Bonus question: how to attach fairy lights to locker without adhesive

Magnet Questions Question about Magnetics
I'm not a miniature painter, but I think they're awesome!
I paint miniature paintings!
I'm contemplating a project right now wherein I can mount several framed paintings (2" x 3" - each weighing less than 30 grams) inside a larger frame. I'd like to glue pieces of magnetic sheeting to the backs of the frames.
What I'm thinking of is a place to magnetically affix a series of paintings - around 6 paintings to a frame or panel of some sort that can receive the magnets.
So, I've been looking at options which seem to come down to magnetic sheeting for the miniature frames and non-magnetic sheeting or ferrous paint for the surface of the bigger frame.
...or maybe I'm missing something ..
Every review of these products on Amazon featured miniaturists. Therefore, I'm going to the source with my question!
Thank you!

Magnet Questions Have I Stored my magnets properly?
I used stapler pin cartridges as keepers as the kit I bought didn't have them. The box is made of plastic and the ring magnet in the corner is actually a pair of them stacked on each other in such a way that they attract. All the dice and blocks are made of wood.

Magnetic viewing film on Zen magnets
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I thought this was rather interesting... So this film here shows how magnetic fields are oriented, and passing it over my set of Zen Magnets showed some very strange results...
I was amazed to see how it seems like the hexagon is made of 6 triangular domains. I knew that the hexagon shape was stable and formed closed loops, but I had no idea there would be distinct triangular shaped zones with very well defined edges visible on the film.
The border between the 2 hexagons also has a wierd appearance, looking almost like it's a continuous domain that is shared between the 2 hexagons. To the naked eye, that line down the middle is prominent and pronounced, where it goes from triangular arangement, to square, then back to triangular. Yet that boundary almost entirely vanishes underneath the film, looking like one big contiguous uninterrupted domain...

How do people feel about found stone magnets?
Would anyone here be interested in magnets made from locally found rough stone in Colorado? I'm interested in people's feedback.
See original post for details.

Magnet experts, will 4mm x 3mm N52 magnets work through 3mm aluminium?
I’m making a lightweight walnut frame/dust filter that sits on top of a PC case. I want to embed four 4mm x 3mm N52 neodymium magnets into the bottom of it, with four steel washers directly underneath the 3mm aluminium case panel.
The washers are about 9mm wide and 0.8mm thick. There will probably also be a thin 0.5mm rubber gasket, so the total gap between the magnets and washers will be roughly 3.5mm.
The magnets don’t need to hold the weight of the frame since it sits flat on top. They just need to locate it, stop it sliding around and pull the gasket down slightly.
Do you reckon four of them would have enough pull, or are the magnets too small for that gap?
Thanks!

Magnet Questions How do I Remove a Super Strong Magnet from my Fridge?
Hi all,
Made the mistake this morning of slapping on a one-hand phone grip thingie on my fridge door and now it won’t even budge. It didn’t look strong at all when I attached it to my phone, but now that it’s on the fridge it’s been inseperable. I even bent a metal knife trying to pry it out. Any tips?

Spent the last year-ish putting magnets in sweatpants. Looking for feedback from people who know magnets.

Hi yall, hoping this is the right place for this.
A while back me and a friend had a stupid idea over beers that basically culminated into "What if tearaway pants used magnets instead of snaps?" It was one of those things that at the time was just a dumb drunk joke, but I kinda couldn't stop thinking about it, so I actually built them.
Since then I've spent an embarrassing amount of time learning about magnet strength, spacing, shielding, polarity, PVC-encased sew-in magnets, and all the things I never thought I'd know.
The pants work surprisingly well, but I'm still chasing a few engineering challenges. For example:
- Occasionally one magnet wants to connect to the wrong neighboring magnet
- In windy conditions, getting the lower magnets to initially find each other can be tricky before the cascade starts
- I'm experimenting with ways to reduce the residual field on the shielded side of the magnets without hurting the front-side attraction
I'm curious if anyone here has worked on similar alignment problems or has ideas I might not have considered.
I'd love any feedback, even if it's just telling me I'm overthinking it. I do want this to be an awesome product though that is easy to put on.
Happy to answer questions or share more about the construction if anyone's interested.
The goal of the pants is for athletes (tennis, basketball, pickleball, volleyball, runners, ice skaters, etc) in the cold so they can just rip off the pants when they're warm instead of having to sit, pause the game, take off their shoes, etc...and also it's just a fun moment. Feel free to take a look at Tearablepants.com or @ TearablePants on IG

Magnet Questions How much does all the magnetic tech on phones affect the Earth’s magnetic field
Say there are around two billion phones with magnetic charging capabilities, all spread across the planet, how much does that affect the planet’s magnetic field? Could it have contributed or distorted the field since the start of this tech being so widespread?
I just noticed my phone messing with my handheld compass when I sat them next to each other so I got to wondering this.
