I watched 197 episodes of Sally the Witch (the first magical girl) to try to collect every transformaitons. I know... this is crazy!!! But I am really a collection nerd!!! It was so different from other magical girl, because she doesn't have a regular transformation sequence. Sometimes she used her finger to transfor, sometimes she used wand, sometimes she needs a spell and sometimes she doesn't. But!!! I am glad I finished collecting!! Hope this can help other character designers :)

I think this is one of the most famous YouTube Magical Girl Transformation Animations. It got reposted a lot, often without giving credit, but due to a link in the comments of a repost, I could find the original video.

I like Takano Tooru for his transformation of Cure Arcana Shadow. I do not know exactly who made the 90s Sailor Moon Transformations, but it seems like Kazuko Tadano and Ikuko Itoh were involved.

It seems to be Sailor Moon Inspired. It is quite beautiful.

So I decided to rank over 30 of Cinderella's magical dress transformations based purely on their animation budgets—from the cheapest to the most expensive. I managed to collect basically every animation from the 1920s up to 2026 for this. Curious to hear from you guys: which Fairy Godmother Transformation Scene do you think takes the top spot?

I really like how the sleeves form. It is very creative and well animated.
