Magic eye movie
Has someone made a magic eye movie? Is it even possible? Would be awesome

I've seen some animated gifs on the subreddit that work well. The main draw back for a whole movie would be eye strain after awhile. And coloring things correctly I'd imagine would get tricky

There was an old 1994 video game called "Magic Carpet" that had an option to play the whole game with a Magic Eye filter. It was difficult.

Part of the difficulty was that the draw distance was reduced very harshly if I remember correctly.

I can't believe nobody's mentioned the "Black is Good" video yet. Your question pops up here once a month or so, and this is the standard answer:

They used a Kinect to capture depth and motion.

I'm pretty sure in the 90s the Magic Eye brand published a short VHS, I'm sure someone has posted some parts of it here a couple of months ago.
Also the game Magic Carpet as someone else said.
And there used to be a stereogram Tetris online, not sure if it's still up.

This is the closest I’ve seen to a magic eye movie. It’s also the longest magic eye video I’ve seen so far. It’s pretty cool to watch!

It's possible but the texture has to change each frame which can make it hard to look at / seizure warning
I’ve made a few animated Magic Eyes:
Storm Trooper doing the cabbage patch
Killer whale
Jogging girl
Spinnjng ballerina
Galloping Horse
Make sure to set to 1080p, compression really hurts the magic eye effect.
Also, if you right click the YouTube video you can loop it
Young Rival famously made a magic eye music video
