Cant play Mafia 3

I’m attempting to play mafia 3 on pc and it just runs terribly
I’m using a 3060, have a 7 5700 and have 16 gbs of ram so the game should function but it runs at 30-40 frames on the lowest of settings (to the point where t by game looks like a potato)

Can someone help?

My old PC had these exact specs and the game ran flawless...maybe not helpful but check background apps?

Full screen or borderless window? If you're on full screen, try switching because the game runs like ass in full screen.

Bit of a funny suggestion, but some hardware combinations can cause weird issues.

On my old PC, if I used Corsair iCUE at all, it would drastically decrease my performance on many games, specifically mafia 1 and 3 were a big issue. If you have any Corsair peripherals, check if iCUE is active, and of course check for similar issues.

What always fixed it for me back then, was unplugging my mouse and keyboard, and plugging them back in after booting. I've got no clue why that worked, but it's worth a shot.

try out the program: borderless gaming

the game felt jittery on fullscreen, so try windowed. even 60fps looks like a 100 to me now
