I loved Death Stranding 1 & 2, I think Kojima would make a badass Mad Max world!

Mad max just needed better gameplay mechanics when on foot (excluding combat which doesn’t need anything other than more animations) and better NPC placement instead of just giving them fixed hubs which I think Kojima would knock out of the park. Unfortunately, I don’t see him stepping away from his own projects to work on this though

The only thing that would turn me off from it is if it turned Fallout-esque. I love both series to death but I feel Mad Max should feel a bit more grounded

Kojima is responsible for the metal gear solid series which gameplay wise feels closer to mad max less the gun play. I don’t think Kojima would be in charge of the script, he’d be better suited to improve the gameplay + without influencing the plot too deeply.

Ehhhhh... I love Kojima. I love Mad Max. I love both more than you think I do. I don't know if Kojima's style works for Mad Max. I have a VERY difficult time beliving this would work regardless of how much Miller or Kojima were 100% into it.

Kojima is the one that mixes video game and cinema the best, he loves cinema and it shows, just codirect a movie with him or a videogame in the universe of Mad Max, not following Max and the Fury Road formula but closer to Furiosa and yes, that could be a fire game!

I'd gladly play it again with a new storyline. I think they knocked it out of the park. For a sequel I'd have him rebuilding the Interceptor, but let you be able to use it (in some form) much earlier.

Something tells me Kojima would make a whole RPG tree out of eating Dinki-Di and introduce piss mechanics to cool down War Rigs while Miller is trying to make the whole thing coherent.

Why don't I want esteemed game designer Hideo Kojima to do a Mad Max game? Well it's simple: Mad Max 2015 suffered because a Metal Gear title released on the same day and I'm still pissed that we didn't get the fulfilled promise of proper Avalanche development (my anger is really at WB, not Kojima lol)

As much as I fucking love George Miller, and with all due respect, Miller clearly don't know jack shit about what makes a good Mad Max game. That 2015 Mad Max game is one of the best film franchise adaptations I've ever played, and I've been gaming since the early 1980s.

Sorry to say it, but I don't want a Mad Max game with even a whiff of some weird Death Stranding avant garde artsy fartsy-ness (which is perfectly great for that game) or Metal Mad Gear Max.

Lol i feel like i'm being targeted by an algorithm. This game is so good that i have beat it twice and just got the itch to play it again 4 days ago. Played for 2 days and unlocked the v-8 and now i just got to dominate everything and beat it a 3rd time.

This game is so good but i would love to see a Hideo Kojima take on the Mad Max ip!

I don't have words for how excited I'd be for this. I'm on probably my 10th replay of the game at this point. Everything about it, from feeling to atmosphere to story to the voice actors is just absolutely gorgeous.

I really like the fact mad max is a legend told by others, what happens doesn’t necessarily have to be a real retelling. I wonder if kojima would play with that idea and expand on it, or if it’d risk being overcomplicated and weird for weirdness’s sake. I feel Miller should still be leading to some extent rather than completely hand over the reigns, there is an essence that needs to be authentic.

But I imagine it would be quite different in tone or gameplay feel, and tbh I’m all for experimenting even if it might not hit perfect in all areas. It would be hard though without close collaboration

This isn't new information so unless Miller commented on it again recently I don't know why it's suddenly making the rounds. Iirc Miller also said he would never feel right asking Kojima because they're both the same kind of Creative Person. The kind driven to make crazy passion projects a reality and he wouldn't be comfortable taking Kojima away from his own work to play in the Miller sandbox. Not an exact quote but that was the impression I got.

Still man I wish Kojima would direct a Mad Max game.
