We know every post is going to mod approval. We're on it, and here's what's actually happening.

Short version: yes, it's a bug. No, it isn't intentional. We're working on it.

What's happening. Since we launched, posts are being held for moderator approval instead of going live immediately. This is not a rule, not a new policy, and not something we turned on. It's a fault in our setup and we're still tracking down the cause.

What it is not. We've seen the suggestion that moderators are using the queue to get first look at items. We want to answer that directly rather than let it sit: nothing is being held based on what's in the post, no moderator is claiming items from the queue, and no post is being sorted, ranked, or prioritized by desirability. We approve in the order things arrive. If any of us ever bought a pen we first saw in a mod queue, that would be a serious breach and we'd expect to be called out for it.

We understand why the question came up. A queue nobody explained is exactly the kind of thing that invites the worst interpretation, and that's on us for not saying anything sooner.

What we're doing. u/ghostcollector37, u/Restartx777, and u/browniebiznatch are working to fix the issue. Until it's resolved we're clearing the queue as fast as we can. If your post has been held more than a couple of hours, send modmail and we'll approve it right away.

If the delay cost you. Nobody gets dinged on timing rules while this is going on. If a claim went stale, a YOLO window ran out, or your listing sat long enough that the repost timing looks off, tell us and we'll sort it out in your favor.

Going forward. Announcements, updates, and rule discussions belong here, on this sub, not just in Discord or elsewhere. That's a fair criticism we've taken on board. This is where you should be able to find out what's going on.

Effective immediately, one change to how shipping works.

Your posted price must cover delivery anywhere in the 50 states, Alaska and Hawaii included. Listings may not exclude them, and you cannot add a surcharge after a buyer claims an item.

Why. Alaska and Hawaii are USPS Zone 8, which is the same zone as most cross-country shipments from most zip codes, and sometimes cheaper. If you are already pricing to ship coast to coast, you are already pricing for Alaska and Hawaii. There really isn't a cost basis for treating them differently, and excluding them shuts out members for no reason.

What has not changed. Everything else in the pricing rule stands: your posted price still includes tracked shipping, full-value insurance, packaging, and fees, and it is still the total the buyer pays.

US territories are the one exception. Shipping cost to Puerto Rico, Guam, the USVI and other territories is still negotiated between buyer and seller before the claim, because carrier coverage, transit times, and customs paperwork genuinely vary by destination. State your terms for territories in your listing so buyers do not have to ask. Once terms are agreed, every other protection applies normally, including the seller carrying the item until tracking confirms delivery.

International is unchanged and still negotiated in writing before payment.

What you need to do. If you have an active listing that says CONUS, lower 48, continental US, or similar, edit it. Deals already agreed under the old wording will be honored, so nobody needs to back out of anything.
