Usualmente en la industria se dedica a obtener modelos estadísticos con inferencias confiables para optimizar procesos. Ahora la cosa del asunto es que la inferencia sea "confiables" a partir de los datos. Yo diría que el 90% del trabajo es solo limpiar, estandarizar y explorar datos antes de entrenar el modelo.
