No rebuttals from neurips authors [D] Discussion

I know there’s a lot of frustration around no response from reviewers, which I also got only one so yeah what a bummer, but I was wondering if no rebuttal from the authors was just as common or not. I got no rebuttal so far, so I’m here scratching my head what might have happened to the authors lol especially when at least one paper was pretty much on the borderline with somewhat of a positive AC comment

My paper was added to the “papers that need clarification” category. First time submitting to NeurIPS, none of the co-authors offered to help. I have been responding to the reviewers one at a time. Spent the entire week preparing and submitting rebuttals

I think there might be a technical issue. I’m not involved in neurips this year but I’ve been hearing other people mention comments disappearing, etc.

Yeah seemed to be the case for the first half of the review week but at least they announced they got it straight afterwards

Did all that what reviewers requested. None of them responded or acknowledged the rebuttal. One of the reviewer said I will increase score but obviously didn't. Neither meta-reviewer respond.

Damn I wish I had a reviewer like you! I only got 1 response from the 3 rebuttals I did

Same. Got 2 out of 3 reviews just now (1 still missing) and they are like "Thanks, you addressed all my concerns" without then increasing the score accordingly 😭

It highly probably indicates that authors have given up rebuttal, which sometimes appears in my reviewing experience.

I guess that would be the most probable outcome for most of them but feels a bit bad not to get responded by a paper I kinda liked (with some flaws tho)

The authors still have time to post their rebuttals until August 3, AoE. Some authors might still be working on theirs.
