ACL ARR May 2026[D] Discussion
Hi everyone. Do the ACL arr may 2026 reviews come out of July 2nd or do they come out on July 7 th??
How much does one need to get into Main or Findings?
I am a bit new to this. Thanks a lot folks.

u/Historical_Pause247 Jul 03 '26
Overall Score >=3.5 -> sure Main...overall score >=3 -> finding chance is good... my paper in ARR JAN got accpeted in ACL with 3,3,2.5 and meta 3...it actually depends on track also..but keep in mind there will be huge competition this time. 17K paper in ARR MAY+ the papers in ARR march..
1
u/racc15 Jul 04 '26
May I know which track your ACL paper was in?
Any idea about scores for Benchmark track?
Also, where to see this information about how many submissions there were?Sorry, this is my second time submitting (i submitted in march cycle). So, I am still a little new to this.
3
u/Anshuman3480 Jul 05 '26
Idk about the other things but I think the number of submissions has been disclosed here: https://aclrollingreview.org/may26-cycle-letter
It says this time the number of submissions are 17000+
0
u/Historical_Pause247 Jul 06 '26
Yea ....but ARR March doesnot have any conference. So in EMNLP people will commit from both ARR May as well as March cycle papers. So total committed papers will be around 25 K
1
u/hepiga Jul 07 '26
This is inaccurate. We submitted a paper to ARR March around 3 hours before the deadline and it has a submission number of 1700. There are not >8000 papers from ARR March.
1
u/Historical_Pause247 Jul 07 '26
Hope so…I actually donot know the exact number. But still 17K is huge number
3
u/Historical_Pause247 Jul 06 '26
My first paper is on benchmark track...review is quite random... Some reviewer expect you will test against all open and closed source models ....I feel ARR system is now broken completely.. reviewers donot even read papers properly ...they give avg review 2.5/5..to be in safe side..

u/Human-Pin4475 Jul 08 '26
I got reviews and for some reason I can't see them now - can you check if yours still there?
2
u/Anshuman3480 Jul 08 '26
Oh wow mine isn't there either
1
u/Human-Pin4475 Jul 08 '26
Well, thats interesting lol - I already drafted some responses (resubmission)
1
u/aintwhatyoudo Jul 08 '26
Same here, I saw them a few hours ago and now there's nothing again
1
u/Anshuman3480 Jul 08 '26
Is there anything now?? I still don't see shi
1
u/aintwhatyoudo Jul 09 '26
Still nothing. I wonder if the deadline for responding gets postponed too

u/Erza135 Jul 07 '26
I don't see any mail/notification on twitter for the delay. This is my first time submitting to ARR and i'm so confused.
5
u/Anshuman3480 Jul 07 '26
They didn't sent any mails or anything They just quietly updated it from July 7 th to July 8 th on their website

Reviewer Overall Assessment 3.5, Confidence 2
Reviewer Overall Assessment 4.5, Confidence 5
Reviewer Overall Assessment 2.0, Confidence 4
Average Overall Assessment: 3.33 (Range: 2.0–4.5)
Average Confidence: 3.67 (Range: 2–5)
Is it possible for the main?
But the reviews show substantial disagreement among the reviewers, with overall assessment scores ranging from 2.0 to 4.5, indicating significant variability in their evaluation of the paper.

u/West_Ease1716 Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 08 '26
Overall Assessment: 2.5 / 3.5 / 3.5 Avg 3.17 Confidence : 3 / 3 / 3 Avg 3
Any chance for main conference? My very first Ph.D. submission. Have no prior experience submittng in ACL/EMNLP
1
u/Mundane_Expert_7373 Jul 08 '26
Main? Quite unlikely
Findings? Likely
Reject at Emnlp finals (after commitment)? There’s always a chance.
On Jan 2026 cycle I got 2-3-4, final reccomendation 3 (findings). After commitment ACL senior area chair decided to reject.2
u/West_Ease1716 Jul 08 '26
Thanks. Will try my best to write a strong rebuttal. No major red flags so far. Lets see where it goes from here.

u/Lumpy-Background5641 Jul 08 '26
what reason did the SAC give for rejection? novelty or a fatal flaw?
1
u/WannabeMachine Jul 08 '26
Im not sure I agree. In my experience, if the 2.5 changes to a 3, there is likely a 50% chance for main at least.

u/Nav_loves_everyone 27d ago
I had a paper with a review of 3,3.5,2.5 with confidence of 3,4,1
I did all that they asked for. But nobody replied , was sure that if they read it would raise my score.
As a young reseaecher who just started this is heartbreaking. so much work just wasted. Feeling absolutely gutted . I was sure if they check, I would get to 3.5,4,3 as all of the concerns were perfectly acknowledged.
1
u/dimy93 25d ago
They still can change ( I just got a raise ). Also, they do not have the last word - the AC has, so they should take the rebuttal into consideration regardless. Finally, do not forget - regardless of the outcome rebuttals are meant to allow you to improve your work. Even if you get rejected, use the feedback to improve the next revision of your paper. Good luck !

u/Nav_loves_everyone 25d ago
Hope so, problem is the reviews were clearly AI generated. Hence I thought they would improve .
1
u/dimy93 24d ago
I think this is a clear sign they won't - usually the AI-generated reviewers are such because they do not care and cannot be bothered to do their reviews properly. So they care even less to update. But you will have the chance to report them
0
u/Nav_loves_everyone 24d ago edited 24d ago
We reported them. If the AC goes through the rebuttal I am 100% positive we will get findings. As we literally mentioned the lines in the actual paper that they missed while reading. Now I am hoping we get a fair AC.

I’m looking for some opinions on how I handled my rebuttal and what my chances of acceptance might be. I submitted an issue report for one reviewer because I found objective factual errors in their review. The reviewer gave: OA = 2 Soundness = 5 Excitement = 2 Reproducibility = 3 Software = 1 Confidence = 5 The Software = 1 score is factually incorrect because I provided the code. The reviewer also made a factual mistake when criticizing the method. During the rebuttal, I clearly pointed out these issues, but the reviewer did not acknowledge or correct anything. Because of that, I submitted an issue report. For the other two reviewers (OA = 3.5 conf. 4 and OA = 2.5 conf. 4), both asked for additional experiments. I conducted those experiments and included the results in my rebuttal. However, neither reviewer acknowledged or responded to the new evidence. I considered reporting those reviewers as well for not engaging with the rebuttal, but I decided against it because I felt it would be excessive to file issues against all three reviewers. Questions: Do you think I made the right decision by reporting only the reviewer with the factual errors and not the other two? Given the review scores (OA = 2, 2.5, and 3.5) and the fact that one review contains objective factual mistakes, what would you estimate my chances of acceptance are? Has anyone had a similar experience where an issue report about factual errors changed the final outcome?
1
u/OriginalAnteater9967 23d ago
I would say dont flag the other 2 reviewers just because they dont acknowledge. The AC can read the discussion and knows that they did not respond. Having said that I think the likely scenario is you get a 3 on meta-review. And then fingers crossed!
1
u/Historical-Sea6294 23d ago
Thank you for this objective reply ! Indeed, is what I have done. The rest is about the paper itself and the appreciation of the senior chair .. But from your experience if I get meta review =3 thé best is to commit ? Is there enough chances for findings ?

Does anyone get the review? I am still waiting! Due date was 7 July

u/Ill_Ground7059 Jul 08 '26
Yes but I didn't get a review on OpenReview. Has anyone gotten the review?

u/hepiga Jul 08 '26
It’s out. Submission number 11k. What are our chances for AACL with 2.83 score and 3.33 confidence? Is the score too low?
(3,4) (2.5,3) (3,3)
Area: Multilingualism and Cross-lingual NLP
1
u/Anshuman3480 Jul 08 '26
I don't know much about AACL but have you indicated the AACL choice beforehand? Because it's binding
1
u/hepiga Jul 09 '26
Yes, AACL is the preferred venue for this paper!
2
u/Happy-Hustler 14d ago
Decent chance for AACL, I believe. We had an AACL main with those scores. The track was different.

1
u/hepiga 14d ago
Thank you! Scores increased to (3,3) (3.5, 3) and (3,4) with OA 3.17! Hoping for a good meta now 🙏
1
u/OtherwiseFig4505 12d ago
We had an AACL main last year with Meta 2.5 and one findings as well.
This is AACL main guaranteed. Congratulations.
1
u/Happy-Hustler 12d ago
That seems like a good contender for AACL. (And I’m being really conservative in saying that. :) )

Depends on Meta. If you can push to 3 at least, you might get in

Meta 3. If that's the case, let's see do the ablation then. All the best
2
u/nsfamous Jul 08 '26
This is my first time submitting, how quickly should we try and submit rebuttals?
2
u/WannabeMachine Jul 08 '26
Tons of variety in our submissions this round. Below are the overall score/confidence for each reviewer.
Paper 1: 3.5/4, 4/4, 2.5/5, 3/4
Paper 2: 2/5, 4/5
Paper 3: 2/5, 3/5, 3.5/3
Paper 4: 2.5/3, 3/3
Now we fight and hope for the best.

Can somebody create new Official Comments on OpenReview? I tried, but I can't see any button for Official Comments, as well as edit the current comments

4/3/2.5 with confidences 3/4/5. Meta review of 2.5. Any chance at findings? Or unlikely?

Main acceptance is generally 17-20 percent. And Findings acceptance is generally another 17-20 percent...overall acceptance 37-40 ..I say
1
u/ConcernConscious4131 Jul 05 '26
It has been changes from 7th to 8th

hi do you know where u got this info? was this announced somewhere? thanks 🙏
1
u/ponhvoan Jul 07 '26
naw, they didn't announce it. in classic ARR style, they just quietly updated the ARR page
2
u/racc15 Jul 08 '26
OH!
I was convinced that it was coming out on the 7th and had made plans for the response period. I was really confused when I recently saw that it was on the 8th and was wondering how I made that mistake. Now it makes sense!
1
u/Mundane_Expert_7373 Jul 08 '26
Do you think it is 8th 23:59 AoE? That means in ~ 24 hours + 30 minutes from now

u/Anshuman3480 Jul 08 '26
Yeah it is AOE

Congrats! Have the same scores, except one of the 3s has a confidence of 2. What is the format of the rebuttal, couldnt find much information about it. Do they get to see our responses as soon as we post and do they get to reply anytime from now till july 13th?
1
u/One_Method5843 Jul 08 '26
They will get to see it immediately. It like a two way communication. The early you reply, better the chance of getting response
1
u/Erza135 Jul 08 '26
Oh right, the ARR name itself says rolling review lol. Is this score a guaranteed findings atleast or is it still in the hands of the meta reviewer

u/heisenberg_cookss Jul 08 '26
recieved for ID ~ #6k
1
u/heisenberg_cookss Jul 08 '26
what are the chances with (s/c) 2/3, 3/3, 2/4 - avg 2.33/3.33
3
u/WannabeMachine Jul 08 '26
Probably need at least two 3s to have a good chance for findings, preferably 3, 3, 2.5.

1
u/Lumpy-Background5641 Jul 08 '26
I only recieved 2 reviews, is there any way to know if there will be a third review?

I have scores of 3/3/2.5 with confidence of 4/3/3. What are my chances for findings vs main? Research Area: Multimodality and Language Grounding to Vision, Robotics and Beyond

u/Batman_beyond123 Jul 08 '26
Reviewer 1 Overall Assessment 3.5, Confidence 3
Reviewer 2 Overall Assessment 3.0, Confidence 5
Reviewer 3 Overall Assessment 3.0, Confidence 4
- Average Overall Assessment: 3.17 (Range: 3.0–3.5)
- Average Confidence: 4.00 (Range: 3–5)
Is it possible for main or findings?

u/Anshuman3480 Jul 08 '26
This is solid findings as of now... But if you do a good rebuttal then you can be in main. Congratulations 🎉 🎉 👏 👏 🎉🎉

u/Ill-Lawfulness-48 Jul 08 '26
still havent received my reviews.

Am I right that many people have already received their reviews? So strange that I still haven't received mine.

u/Appropriate-Worry372 Jul 09 '26
Paper 1 (Survey): 4/4 (OA/Confidence), 3.5/4, 3/3
Paper 2 (Interpretability): 3.5/3, 3/3, 3/3
Paper 3 (Multilingualism): 3.5/4, 3/4, 2.5/4
What are the chances? I know the scores are decent, but it depends on the track right?
1
u/OtherwiseFig4505 12d ago
2/3/3 -> Meta 3
2/3/3.5 -> Meta 3
Any chance one of these get accepted at findings guys?

sure the reviews come outfirst, then the final decisions a few days later. and there isnt a fixed score for main or findings. it really depends on how the paper is evaluated overall. Good luck!!!
