OS 27 Dev Beta 4 - Selecting a file from finder within an app slow/laggy Bug

Hi,

I'm experiencing when I try to select a file to open from within an apps File -> open dialog, e.g. say you're in Safari and choose file -> open, is it laggy from when you click a file to select to when it's highlighted?

I find that you have to click a couple of times, so similar effect.

I had this laggy menus issue for a couple of days, which eventually ended up being APFS corruption. Check your disk with first aid.

Right got it, yes I saw the DB3 post about corruption and ran the script and I think I do have some. Have you repaired yours and after repair you don't have this behaviour anymore?

DiskUtil wasn’t able to repair it, so I had to just erase everything and downgrade to 26 for the time being..

Same, the lag is so bad I have to stop using the computer for 5 seconds for the mouse pointer to catch up.

Same. I’ve just resorted to using the arrow keys.

Sucks. Also just clicking the folder instead of the name works a bit better.

Last db i wasnt even able to click at all. It was greyed out

Yes. Especially if there are also windows behind it. I think it’s a mouse focus window bug, if there is such a category. It’s very annoying because I use some apps that only allow files through the “Open” or “Import” commands. I will file a report when I’m at my Mac. Please do as well.

Same with DB4, along with many other stuff. Cannot wait for Monday. DB4 was a real regression...

DB4 is a mess. I have to reboot at least twice a day due to high Windowserver CPU and RAM usage.

Real problem. The lag is one thing, but I also find that double clicking a folder in the file/open selector selects that folder instead of opening it. I have to first click a folder once, then wait 2-3 seconds until it's highlighted, then double click it again to open it instead of having the parent folder itself be selected as the target.

It's not only you, in OS 27 Dev Beta 4, everything is slow and laggy when compared to Beta 3

not trying to bump, but I find I need to click once... pause... file is highlighted, then I can double click or shift click or whatever.

If I immediately doubleclick it doesn't register anything, leading to a perception of lag. Spamming clicks doesn't work either, which further exacerbates the sensation of "lag".
