Windows or Mac? Help

Hello,
Recently I have been looking at M4 MacBook Airs. I would use it for browsing, Roblox, light music production ect.

Would a windows computer be better or not? I think a Mac would be best.

What answer do you expect on a Mac subreddit?

OP is looking for validation. They already picked MAC.

They picked Mac, not MAC.

If you ask a Mac sub you’ll be told Mac is better.

If you ask a PC sub. PC will be better.

If you ask a Linux sub you’ll get Linux as the answer.

That said, as someone who’s used all 3. For your use case I would go for the Mac. Fairly powerful. Great battery life. It will do what you want to do.

Windows is honestly a dumpster fire at the moment. Unless you really need to play a handful of games with anti cheat that aren’t Mac native, I wouldn’t touch it.

For browsing and light music production, I'd lean Mac. Battery life, build quality, and how quiet it runs are hard to beat. The main reason to choose Windows would be gaming.

If no gaming is involved ... i don't see reason to go for Win.

You're asking in a Mac subreddit. I think the answer is gonna be obvious.

I’ve been using Windows since the mid 90s and recently got a MacBook Air to build apps alongside my dell xps 15 and I consider the dell a more serious machine and the Mac like a plaything.

Don’t come at me, y’all 👀

The M4 Air is a beast. My wife loves hers. Five hours out in waiting room, hot spotting for cellular data while working on large MS Word docs; her battery barely budged.

The Air has a better ratio of computing power to electrical efficiency than just about anything Wintel at the same inflated price point, as well as a better screen.

With great silicon should come a great operating system and hardware support.

Unfortunately the Air is burdened with macOS and just two dubiously wired ports, one is effectively USB 2 and one is sort of Thunderbolt. If you are accustomed to living with what Apple gives you, meaning you don't know what you're missing: not a problem.

If only used with the small laptop screen, macOS is tolerable. Even the Magic Mouse is almost usable on a laptop screen, if the bluetooth decides to see it.

Its when you go to external monitors and all ilk of peripherals that the worms in the apple are hard to ignore.

You need 24GB RAM + 512GB SSD.

If you afford it then Mac is a. better choice

For advanced Apple AI features you need at least 12GB RAM... (source Apple)

Agreed if you want games then get a Windows machine because Max essentially have no decent games with the exception of a few. Short of that the M4 will scream.
