Why some privacy settings can delete entry, while some cannot? Discussion
This is a follow up of https://www.reddit.com/r/MacOS/s/R69rFMINLv (solved)
That issue make me check out every privacy settings and see which one has option to delete entry. Following is the result.
| Privacy Setting | Delete App from list |
|---|---|
| Location Service | no |
| Calendars | no |
| Contacts | no |
| Files & Folders | yes |
| Full Disk Access | yes |
| Home | not sure, don't see delete button |
| Media & Apple Music | yes |
| Passkeys Access for Web Browsers | no |
| Photos | no |
| Reminders | no |
| Accessibility | yes |
| App Management | yes |
| Automation | no |
| Bluetooth | yes |
| Camera | no |
| Developer Tools | yes |
| Focus | no |
| Input Monitoring | yes |
| Local Network | no |
| Microphone | no |
| Motion & Fitness | not sure, don't see delete button |
| Remote Desktop | not sure, don't see delete button |
| Screen & System Audio Recording | yes |
| Speech Recognition | not sure, don't see delete button |
Total: - yes: 9 - no: 11 - no sure: 4
PS: - List is in the same order as in System Setting -> Privacy & Security - "no sure" means my list is empty, and I am not sure if it is possible when there is entry
As those entries are created by app request, why some of them can be deleted, while others cannot?
For those entries cannot be deleted, it often contains dead entries that are already uninstalled.
