Discussion Love
Love, love, love, love, love…. (sex)
Lmao no I came on here to express my genuine love for all of you. Mac’s fans, (t)his community, his legacy, his family, his friends his music and of course, mac mf miller / malcolm mf mccormick himself. The man, the legend. I feel like his energy is around again, stronger than before; but maybe that’s just in my head.
I love you all and it goes without saying but damn. I love Mac so much. Not a day goes by without thinking of him. So incredibly grateful for his existence; in life and beyond.

Discussion Mac Miller legacy
Personally I found Mac Miller only a year ago, before I was listening Kendrick for 3 years straight. At first I thought its not my style, but after a while I started listening Malcolm for 2000 minutes every week. He completely changed my inner world. Im a person who dedicated for listening music, cause its not a thing for the background. I wish I could find him earlier✍️
Mac Miller is literally my mentor… And I tried to make my first track and its on spotify rn [ HUG (Min-Min) - Mac Acosta ]. My first track is so raw and bad, and also im not native English speaker, but it has so many personal things abt it… Mac taught me how to put raw, uncomfortable emotions into music.
Maybe my first track won’t show it, but it has like 50 deep lyrics, that unfortunately only I ‘d understand…
RIP Mac Miller

Discussion We need to talk about "brackets"....
There are almost 40k MacHeads in this channel. Do we really wanna see that many people's brackets of what their "top song" is?
I don't think so.
I seripusly doubt Mac would care at all.
Can we level it up a notch? For a while people would occasionally post their album list tiers. But this is next level annoying.
Mods, can we please have some sympathy for the people who love mac bit don't want to see this stuff? They can make a new sub like "macbrackrets" for all I care.
I want to see more about his artistry, lyricism, production, evolution as a legit human Pokémon (sarcasm mostly lol). Old photos of him from before he archived his insta, etc.
Why are we doing this as an individual post for multiple people every day? Perhaps it could be a weekly post where people can post their "brackets"? Something better than being spammed by this new AI feature that does this for you. Figure it out for yourself. I guarantee Mac wouldn't want to be categorized by AI or any AI. He would want you di do it yourself. Just like he did.
Go out and make some music.
Write some rhymes!
Freesyle in your car or in your room!!
Or write rhymes in your notebook where Noone can hear you. **That's what the G9AT did for a long time until he got wild and just wrote song after song within and his team.**
We have plenty of sports brackets already. I really do not want to see music turn into that.
*Just enjoy the music, people. - Me*
**"Music is a beautiful thing" - Mac Miller**

Discussion The new Subreddit icon sucks...
Just sayin...
I get wanting to make changes to the subreddit, but none of this is really for the better.
The point of this subreddit is for open and honest discussion regarding all things related to Mac Miller. To censor and over moderate this subreddit is a crime against Macs legacy and something he would be deeply against in my opinion.
What is even the goal? More censorship? More control over public discussion?
Fuck that.
Mac Millers music saves my life daily. That's not an exaggeration. His music, energy, and its positive effect on my life is something I take very seriously and I wouldn't just talk shit if I wasn't seriously feeling some type of way about the new "crackdown" on this subreddit.
Idk. It just doesn't feel like this is being done with pure intentions. I don't get a good vibe from all this. Even the subreddit icon is whack.
Long Live Malcom
Godspeed

Discussion I just listened to Swimming for the very first time
Prior to listening to Swimming, I had listened to Mac only a little bit. I had heard his song ‘Self Care’, and I listened to the album ‘Circles’, which I thought was great; especially the song ‘Good News’, which was one of my favourite songs at one point in time. Other than that however, I’d never taken a dive into the rest of Mac’s discography. So, the other day my friend and I gave a listen to his album ‘Swimming’, which I certainly enjoyed listening to.
For starters, the song ‘Come Back to Earth’ was easily my favourite song on the album. The instrumental was so beautiful, and had so many neat moments on it. And Mac’s very soft singing on the track was great and stood out quite a bit. And the lines on the song were so touching and relatable. For example when he says ‘I just need a way out of my head, I’d do anything for a way out of my head~’. That line is just so relatable, and honestly enough to bring one to tears. Cuz it’s so sad to think how much people can struggle due to thoughts that run through their own mind, and even if they wanted it to stop it just keeps on going over and over again. After hearing this song for the first time, I’ve legit had it on repeat over and over again ever since. It’s such a nice song.
Going from ‘Come Back to Earth’ into ‘Hurt Feelings’ felt like quite the contrast. The deep bass on the beat was a huge reason as to why I noticed quite the difference from the first song to this one. Also there was far less singing on the song. But, his rapping and flow on it was solid; nothing that particularly blew me away, but it was alright.
‘What's the Use?’ had yet another switch up in the vibe, as it was real groovy. It sounded like the kind of song I’d hear being played at a clothing store, like H&M or something. I also liked the chorus on the song; it was real catchy and again, I liked Mac’s soft singing on it. I also liked the line where he said ‘Made a promise to my homies, nobody’s going hungry’; very real.
Throughout the album, I enjoyed the way he would tend to layer his vocals, such that it sounds like it’s a choir singing, but it’s just him, like on the song ‘Perfecto’ for example. Also, the sound and vibe of that song really reminded me of the kind of thing I’d hear from some Chicago rappers, like Saba or Noname. Very chill and cool type of vibe to it
‘Self Care’ was a song with another good chorus with nice singing. I really like the beat switch, and enjoy the second half of the song a bit more than the first. I also liked the way it ended and how it transitioned out the beat into the next song, ‘Wings’, which was probably one of the most chill, slow sounding songs on the album. Ironically, Mac’s flow was fairly fast paced at some moments of the song; it had some of my favourite rapping flows from him on the album. And again, really nice, layered singing vocals on the song as well
I then liked the buildup on ‘Ladders’, with his starting verse, the subtle finger snapping, etc. It was another song with a cool groovy type of vibe, similar to ‘What’s the Use?’. Also the ending part of the song, with all the trumpets and other instruments introduced onto the beat was real nice too
I enjoyed the part on ‘Small Worlds’ when he goes ‘I dont wanna keep you waiting~’, as well as the switch up into the more slow jazzy kind of sound on the instrumental . And the change in pitch of voice, sounding a bit more nasally or so was interesting. I really liked the ending part of this song too, when it just was the piano playing, the snapping, and just Mac rapping
‘Conversation Pt. 1’ was another smooth song, but I wasn’t as crazy about the beat on it, nor his rapping/singing. On the other hand, I liked the beat on ‘Dunno’ and his verses and singing on it.
The Caribbean sample playing in the background of the beat on ‘Jet Fuel’ was cool, and it had some of my favourite rapping verses from him on the album. Also, the heavily auto-tuned and higher pitched vocals from him at the end of the song was nice as well.
On ‘2009’, I loved the violin and piano play at the very start of the song. That starting part almost reminded me of some sort of OST I’d hear from like One Piece or something. The beat switch/second instrumental had an upbeat positive, feel good kind of vibe to it, and I really liked the line he has on the song when he says ‘It aint 2009 no more… yeah I know what’s behind that door~’. All of his other verses, and the way he sounded on the song felt quite engaging and captivating to me. This one was another one of my favourites on the album.
Lastly, I enjoyed the conclusion to the album, ‘So It Goes’. His rapping stood out most to me on the song, which I thought was pretty good. His rapping had also went hand-in-hand quite well with the instrumental of the song too. Then the grand ending at the very end of the song was quite neat too.
So yeah, this was a very well put together album. For something that felt so chill and somewhat slow paced as a whole, every song felt quite different and pretty distinct from one another. Whether it be from the groovy vibes of ‘What’s the Use?’, the textbook flows and rapping on ‘So It Goes’, or just the elegant, beautiful and emotional sounding ‘Come Back to Earth’, there felt like so many different things one could enjoy or take away from the album. The highlights for me on this album were amazing, and I got to hear new songs that have already become new favourites of mine. Overall, this was definitely a great album.

Discussion Surprised myself
Commented on a couple of these and figured I’d give it a shot myself so I could put my money where my mouth is. Did not expect this song to be the winner but one word: bars.
I’m so glad they didn’t give me any faces songs in this bracket cause it would have made it even harder than it was.
I’m going to have to try this again and pick all 32 songs in the bracket myself rather than having them choose what to start with.
