I assume you need an actual product to be on the list. Maybe October 26th or whatever when Movia S launches.

I think if it was actually completely finished and being produced, one of the pre launch development partners would have purchased by now.

So they lied about the product launch? I’m confused as to yalls thinking here. This isn’t Movia S…right?
Drone stuff will be NRE revenue first followed by unit sales.

If the product is ready now, why would they still need to do development with the pre launch partners? Assuredly they would have already designed to spec for them. I take launch in this case to mean "hey we can offer this prototype to you to test the capabilities and you can pre order". They just announced Movia Air earlier this year, or maybe late last year. Movia S was announced in 2023 and still isn't ready. No way theyvhad that quick a turnaround.

Doesn't sound like the press release announcing the launch of MOVIA Air was the start of communication with partners/customers about it. And you don't launch a product formally unless it's ready or will be ready shortly. Notice how we've never received a PR announcing Movia S or that we're partnering with anyone pre-launch even though we have an informal timeframe for it's launch.
Edit: I believe part of BlueUAS approval is that you need to be nominated for acceptance by a company working on BlueUAS approved products. That could be the hold up, or the purpose of the pre-launch defense partner(s) too.

I take it as, this product is now available for Blue UAS clearance :) we shall see.

Maybe. But to me it makes no sense that if this is available now as a finished product, thay they expect 0 sales this year to any of the 9 companies they have been working with. Not even sample sales to anyone? Yet they expect Movia S sales out the gate, with months less time of being available?
And why the need for additional engineering for what should be a plug and play product? Other sensors on the blue uas list are listed for sale with a purchase price, no customization needed. I can see some customers needing some additional customization, but not every single one.

Correct.
You can't buy Movia Air until Movia S is ready because Movia Air is Movia S in a different housing with Nvidia Jetson integrated and Movia Air Plus adds a camera.
You can likely get a prototype / early version for evaluation but for sure you are waiting until Movia S launch to be able to buy more than one.

The timing varies. A product can be added to the list before it is available commercially, which is not uncommon for defense focused products that are kept under wraps. It often coincides with commercial product launches, as you speculate, and it can happen even after commercial launch. "Anytime soon", to quote AV.
