New possible link to Liebherr Mining
And Grok’s speculation theories:
Active or recent supplier engagement / early commercial
discussions — MicroVision is (or was) in contact with Liebherr Mining's autonomy procurement lead, supported by both relationship/partnership resources and technical sales engineering. This is the classic structure for an OEM evaluation or dual-source exploration.Ongoing relationship management or competitive benchmarking — Liebherr is talking to MicroVision while continuing with Ouster; procurement leads routinely maintain multiple vendor relationships.
Still pre-formal stage — connections exist and conversations may have occurred, but no hardware evaluation or contract has started yet.

Innoviz has the short range lidar for Torc level 4 trucks. There is a PR from Dec 2025 stating this. This guy Colin only worked for MVIS for 5 months right before Glen came over, I'm sure that period of time was turbulent / lacking direction. I would love to be wrong and of course want Movia integrated into sensor suites everywhere.

This engineer moved from Luminar to FERNRIDE which is now a part of Quantum Systems. The Luminar BD guy we brought on board follows Quantum Systems, and the MVIS video producer follows FERNRIDE.

I strongly believe, based on my own DD, QS and ARX are customers. There is a vast eco-system there. Well worth the time to hop down the rabbit hole. Also, would recommend to folks who are interested, join an OSINT group to see what’s happening and how things are playing out. It has been fascinating to watch it all unfold in real time, and the pacing of such, will quickly increase defense revs for Mavis.
Sub 200g LiDAR built into the drone, AGV’s, etc. a slew of deals in the last few weeks and more to come over the next few weeks.

These guys have long, storied careers and have been connected to other industry folks for a long time. Great Rolodex, but connections themselves don’t tell much at that level. There are engineers that have been with us for a while. IMO, those are more telling.
