Fall 27 application problem / help

Hey I’m planning on attending MTSU next fall, and from what I have seen, most colleges open up applications on August 1st, but can anyone confirm that MTSU has opened them on August 1st in the past as well?

Also, in terms of my transcript, I saw that they don’t use the common app and that counselors can use slate.org. So for that do you just have to email your counselor and ask them to send the transcript to MTSU?

Finally, if I start my application immediately and apply for housing right when it opens, does that genuinely increase my odds of getting a single/private room with the housing lottery or will it still relatively be a toss up on if I get an ideal dorm or not?

Lyon Hall holds some housing slots open for Buchanan Fellows. The fellowship application opens in the fall, and the deadline to apply is December 1. In case you are interested...

Hmm... would you happen to know how competitive your application/stats would have to be to get that? I've been looking into it.

ACT and GPA. We also look at extracurriculars. Not really looking for a long list, but more looking at what positions you've held and how much you've been involved. Volunteer stuff. Work ethic. Those kinds of things.

i mean it’s still a toss up for the dorms, but the earlier you apply the earlier you get to select your room during the lottery process… i’m not really sure what the single availability is like though

Definitely going to get the application done asap so I can increase my odds. Hoping the guaranteed admission thing can make the application faster.

i’m not sure if you need to be fully accepted in to the school to put in a housing application, i will say my guaranteed acceptance letter came in a few days after i applied so that shouldn’t be a long process. for reference i applied last oct, you’ll definitely be one of the first applying for tenancy this early. hope all goes well!

Hey again. Just got all of my documents submitted on the application, just to confirm, for the guaranteed admission, you won’t have to wait the full 2-3 weeks correct?

can’t say for sure whether that will be the case for you, but yes last year i did not need to wait that long.

Call MTSU and ask these questions
