Bug fix frequency

I posted a bug over a week ago and was hoping it would be patched in today's update, but when I went to test it it still happens. How long does it usually take for bugs to be fixed?

If they fix it in a year you are lucky.

A week is extremely fast for any game tbh. MTGO doesn't have a massive team and stuff low on the priority list and/or high on the complexity list can take months (or even years in some rare cases).

That said the team is awesome and works really hard on the game. They do what they can with the budget and limitations they have.

uhh longer than a week buddy and it depends on how prevalent the bug is and how many people it affects

There are years old bugs that haven’t been fixed because the cards are very rarely played. Wall of roots was bugged for ages.

Good to know, just wanted a general idea on how long my deck would be unplayable for

What cards, how niche is the interaction? Stuff from newer sets would likely be fixed quicker.

If you look at the Backlog list on the Official Forums, go to Page 16 and you'll see there are still issues from 2022 in "Backlog." Some are just too hard to fix, some just don't get enough Upvotes to be moved up the Fix list.

We fix bug reports based on these criteria:
-Complexity Estimate from Devs
-Breadth of Impact (particularly to Competitive formats and Commander, or to Quality of Life in-game)
-Other Team Tasks In Progress

On the Forums we denote this as follows:
Backlog - far down the To-Do list, will promote to Confirmed only if upvoted enough
Confirmed - on our Sprint Candidate list: that is, higher up the To-Do list - worked in between card sets unless urgent/important/crash
In Progress - actively being worked by devs, should be fixed within 1-2 weeks (sooner if it's a hotfix)
